WC11, I have nothing on that rennovation.  Steve F. might be able to shed a little light on that.

Dear Cat Nation:

Join me in wishing Linfield Kicking Coach, Ron August, who is undergoing tripple bypass heart surgery this Tuesday, in a successful and speedy recovery!

spiritof86

They discussed Coach August during the radio broadcats Saturday. Best wishes to him and his family.

11- Menlo's "facility" is a glorified high school stadium. A glorified 1A HS satdium. It is awful.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

All our Prayers will be with Coach August and his family!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

In the Pre Season analysis Pat Coleman predicted Southern Oregon would be the toughest challenger on the Cats schedule.  I recall our last visit to Southern Oregon when the Cats won in the final quarter 47-42 with purple
frisbees flying all over the field.  I agree with Pat, this might be a real test for the Cats to determine how good this team truly is.

GO CATS!

WC11-

Whomever we talked to before the game (SID??) said that funds were coming in to tear everything out, put concessions underneath and add/update the existing pressbox.  Sounded like something fairly substantial.

I might think this could be a sterner test for the 'cats if sou did not have such a sorry record. Losing to the teams they have lost to is nothing shameful- but the way they lost is. Getting blwon out by Western? Letting wu PASS all over them??

W64, From what I've read on the Oregonlive chat board SOU is down this year. 0-5, not to say they have'nt  been in some games but close still only counts in horse shoes. My fear is the possible cheap shot or two. As always when the Cats come to town,  who ever they play will be up for the game. Plus it will be our first night game this year. I think it might be close for a qt. SOU has some weak db's from what I've heard, and we all know what that means.......My over and under for the week...over 50+ and under 20-.    GO CATS! This one will make it "50" ;D................... And I get a -1 for this post? Pls. The smite Bandit strikes again!!!!!

Tux Guy,
I agree with your assessment and have seen all the backand forth over on the OregonLive board as well.....but I think every team this year "is coming with all guns loaded" to try and make their season by taking down the National Champs.  We probably should have done better in Spokane this past weekend , based upon the early season comp scores, but the refs seemed to want to try to help the Rats make a game of it.
I just know the Raiders will be gunning for the Cats to try and keep them from reaching the magical 50 game winning streak this Saturday.
I still think if the Raiders put it all together in one game we could be faced with a close game again this year.  The Cats should win it but who knows maybe they'll bring the refs down from Spokane to help out the Raiders.

My prayers also go out to coach August for a speedy recovery and that the Holy Spirit comfort his family during this crisis.

What is funny to me is everyone saying how great Whitworth is, No doubt they are a quality club, but just like last season they got in a shootout with Linfield and lost, everybody jumped there bandwagon and they did not make it to the playoffs.  This season they are not as good as last and it will be tough for them to make it into the playoffs.  by the way SOU vs Lin, Sou had 5 personal fouls in the game and they definately can hit on D.  I see Linfield winning by quite a few but beware coaches, get Elliot outta there once the game is in hand.  I can just see some more cheap shots coming.  I hope coach August makes it through okay and has a speedy recovery.

DarkHarvest -

You have a valid point. There is lots of football left to played and I for one have not crowned the Pirates playoff worthy.  However, please note that much of the language in your post suggests that you are engaged in the same type of thinking as those you are criticizing. For example, I could easily turn the tables around and say that I find it "funny" that you have already declared the Pirates "not as good as last year" when the early evidence suggests that PLU and (to a lesser extent) Willamette are the teams who aren't as good. Perhaps we all need to remember to let the games be played.

I agree DT.  You should know
