Hey man, Linfield can't rank out as having the hardest schedule every year!  I think we have ranked 1st the last three though!

Coach August Update: He had quad-bipass this morning and came out of the operation without any complications, so everything seems to be going smoothly so far.

I hope Pat and the team at D3 have a good story line and lots of pics and graphics to post on the front page once the Cats hit the magic 50 yrs of winning season.  This has to be one of the most impressive streaks in sports history!  Definitely front page material?

It would be a big mistake to interpret the Cats stats as a sign of weakness...positive things are happening...And probably the unseen things like team chemistry and character are in the making...As one insider told me..."We are not up to speed yet....when we put it all together we are going to be awesome."

About that SOU SID...He has a better chance of making it as a Hollywood screenwriter than the Raiders have of beating the Cats this Saturday ;D
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Tux Guy,
I had not heard BE was going to be a first round draft pick until I read the pronouncement in the Raider pregame write up.  The only thing I can figure is that the SID reasoned that if Alex Smith was Brett's back up QB at Utah and Alex was a first round pick last year, then that makes Brett a first round pick next year.

"64,

As you and I discussed on the phone if Elliott gets drafted in the NFL I hope he does better than Alex Smith did last week in the 49er game vs. Indianapolis and Peyton Manning. He threw more interceptions than he did completed passes.  He got torn to shreds.

Wildcat 82 Thank you for this good news update on Ron August.  Let's hope Pat and Co. at the DIII site give us lots of good press for achieving our "50 in 05" on Saturday and get Coach August feeling so good it speeds up his recovery.

the sid at SOU is Rich Rosenthal.. he is a Linfield graduate from the early 90's.. that is probably why is he touting Elliott so much.. trying to give him that much more good publicity..

How many of you Linfield guys are playing in the alumni game?

Should I be embarassed/worried that my wife is currently wearing the Linfield shirt Foss gave me in '03 and the Linfield  socks Mrs. Coco sent me last fall? :'(

KR, No I think it just confirms the excellent choice you made w/ your new bride!  :)

Wish our boys a safe return this Saturday. They have to play a bunch of thugs on a 100 yard pasture this Saturday. These thugs have fallen on hard times this year and know they won't beat the 'Cats, but will probably try and take some of them out.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

....this has been a very strange season.....it just seems kind of disjointed to me...maybe if we make the playoffs things will get better.  :P

...it' like most of the away games are like 5-15 hours drive and only 3 home games...just weird. I guess we need to fight through it. The cream rises to the top.

KiltedRat...could you teach her the Linfield Fight Song so she can dance around singing it for you?  :-*

Kilted Rat

Foss,

Fortunately she knows as much about DIII football as Southern Oregon knows about class, although I won't dispute you on the excellency (is that correct use of the word) of my bride!

Bluenote,
I'd be willing to teach her anything provided it resulted in her dancing around ;D

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Cats could celebrate their 50th straight winning season on Saturday by putting 50 points up on the scoreboard???

Keep tuned it may just happen!

Bus Driver,
Be careful what you wish for my man.

You crack me up

The 'cats should put up 50+ this weekend.

Sju is not fit to be on the same field as Linfield, at least so far this season. Beat Concordia then we will humor your questionable remarks.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
