....is it just my imagination or has the Wildcat Gang...taken over this blog? Maybe we can get some of the Johnnie Faithfull to come on board and start bragging about how good the Johnnies are now since they don't have to play Crown.... and liven things up a little....  :-* (big jam session at the Elks next month to warm up for the playoffs!)

Bluenote, after the performance of the Vikings today I am fairly certain they could defeat Linfield.  8)  And I am talking about football, not a boat race.   8)

Wittenberg site:  "48 winning seasons since 1955, NCAA best"

Ah, I finally see it: NCAA best (as long as you don't count Linfield's NAIA days).  A little verbal dexterity there. ::)

Nice mention of the streak in the NY Times today with an Elliott quote you all will like.

Inside College Football

I'm putting together my e-mail to the SID at Wittenberg SID right now.  I suggest my fellow Linfield fans do the same:  Ryan Maurer rmaurer@wittenberg.edu

In terms of the streak and d3football.com.

Personally, I don't really care if Pat mentions the streak at all.  The NY Times, Seattle Times, USA Today, Oregonian, etc, etc, etc, have ran multiple articles on Linfield and the streak and Linfield over the past 12 months.  I'd bet that Linfield has recieved more national printed press over the past year than Mount, SJU, and Rowan combined.

If Linfield reaches their goal then there D3football.com will have no choice but the write multiple articles on the 'Cats.
I just think we shouldn't even waste our breath or keystrokes on this topic.  However, I'm all for getting all over Wittenberg's claims.

Pat:
I will gladly pay you whatever the amount is but,  I want the right to aduit  first?.  :-*  Will you open the books for me? Or maybe Linfield Beancounter?

..

  I nominate  Brett Elloitt ?  :-*

Wildcat64 ,
I don't think pat wants to read it, he has the skills to get it if he so desired.   He  wrote/said that it's not much news outside of oregon already.  dead horse now...  It will be news again when BW  or  if PLU goes down.. 39/35 ... I think that is national?  ;)

You are right Mr guru, I see the difference now...  :'(

When is Whitworth going to get some respect on the D3 poll?  Same story as last year where two or three teams in the NWC could have won games against every playoff team Linfield faced.  Whitworth should be around 10-15 range on the poll right now!  Why is Rowan so high?  That team was a joke last year!

Pat Coleman

I wish Whitworth had beaten EOU. Hard to vote for them if they can't beat then-No. 25, now No. 17 in the NAIA. Remember there are just 94 NAIA football schools, so getting into the Top 25 is more than twice as easy in the NAIA as it is in D-III.

Whitworth is really a top 25 team...no doubt about it.  However, that loss to EOU just kills them in terms of national respect (2 losses).

However, Lax needs to go out of the top 25.  Yeah, I know the WIAC is deep but 3 and 3?  Not top 25 worthy.  I hope that you didn't have them in your personal top 25 Pat!   ;)

Pat Coleman

I had Whitewater and Eau Claire from that league.

I think they will be on the slow slide, with the two Division III losses. But going from #11 to out of the poll is one week might be unprecedented for our poll.

Fellas,

Quit buggin Pat to get more coverage, everything will take care of itself, when the Cat's keep rollin.

This is a dang cool site, don't mess with PC, he's the one that makes it happen, chill out.

It ruined my weekend to see that Kellen got hurt.  It doesn't seem like he should go out like that, he was having such a good season.  I hope Leaf gets the nod, he looked good when he was in there.  He throws the ball better than Clemens, but he can't move like him.

Dixon is a great athlete, I'm just not sure about him, I think he'll probably start though.

I didn't even know about the Mt. Union reg. season streak, holy cow!

Maybe no Cat has been on the team of the week because it is for players that have had exceptional, beyond normal games. Though Linfield players put up great numbers, they do it week in and week out and so it is expected. Just a thought. Hey my 500th post! ;D

Did Wittenberg claim some sort of streak that topped Linfield's?  I can't seem to find it on their site, could they have already pulled it?

Pat-
Do you have any kind of historical data for the number of schools in D3 vs. NAIA over the years.  I know that for a long time many of the schools out here in the NWC and the SCIAC were all NAIA.  I'm interested in knowing what it meant when schools like Cal Lu, Linfield, PLU and Redlands won NAIA championships in the 70's and 80's.

cawcdad

desertcat1, maybe the reason nobody has been nominated is as I stated in the previous post. All the big numbers are expected and no big deal to the Linfield folks. Ho hum, another 6 TD passes and a bazillion yards.

spiritof86

This site does a very good job of covering Linfield. The 'cats will make it back to the Stag, and then we will get an entire 10+ days of Linfield lovin'.

As for the "Team of the Wekk", no noms, no mention. There are so many d3 games each week that at leats 5 qb's put up crazy numbers, same with wr's, db's etc...

I really doubt the guys on the field care that much either.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
