Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

WC64--thanks for hte info, I will keep your offer in mind.
RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

It's a good thing the Cats will be in Salem in a few weeks so the NCAA doesn't have to waste any money on a plane ticket for Brett to receive the Gag Award.  I would say they should just ship it to him and save the trouble of having a banquet but that would take the fun out of things.  Congrats to the other nominees but you can "PHONE IT IN" boy!

(this is an example of Rockcat playing the part of an overzealous Linfield fan  ;D)

The NCAA doesn't have anything to do with the Gagliardi Trophy. In fact, essentially, you're saving money for St. John's. Doesn't that just burn you up? :)

Just a note to the superstitious or numerologists.

For backgound it was noted that "pdxpio" was a Lewis and Clark alum from Portland (PDX is the FAA identifier for Portland International Airport).

Well, McMinnville's airport identifier is MMV; that is also Roman numeral for 2005; that means this is McMinnville's year, and by extension McMinnville's Linfield College!  GO CATS!!  ALL THE WAY!!!!

Yes, but what happens if you divide the total of all the offensive players numbers by the yards gained per play multiplied by the total of the defensive players numbers by the... :P

Pat, looks like you are trolling for karma with that comment.   ;)

I karmalized you anyway.   8)

Tuxguy,

You've missed a lot since Saturday.
Great tailgate, and we're looking forward to this coming Saturday.
We will have some very special guests from Minnesota with us.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Gig Harbor Cat

Coco,
Can't wait until Sat.  I hear you guys are beinging special eats.  I'm bringing MOJO this week, he was mad at me last week cause he missed out on the rib bones.  .  I put a couple of feelers out on the Minn board for gear on the game but no takers so far.  Looks like the cobber fans are all talk.

See you at the Catdome

Brett Elliott has to be the best D3 player in the country, but remember the best player didn't win the award last season, instead it was given to a somewhat unknown kid (at least compared to the other candidates) who played safety for Wesley. I'm still a little confused about the Gagliardi award, as far as how much weight is given to athletics vs. academics vs. community service.

One of the obvious things that could hurt him is some of the voters (there are 30 of them) not voting for him purely because he didn't play D3 for 4 years. I don't know how many kids have won who transferred from a different division. Pat? I would hope they would choose to look at it as a positive for D3, that he wanted to play at a D3 school, and has represented the division well. Not just with his athletic accomplishments and records, but how he has conducted himself. He has been quoted as saying how much he likes the smaller school atmosphere, the way athletics are not life or death like they were at the D1 school, etc. Personally, I think he has been great for D3 on and off the field, and would hope the votes would look at him in this regard.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

M&G-
flagpole with the PurpleFlag about 5 blocks south of the Catdome......we usually get started about 8am.

Having tailgated next to the Purple Flag at the Stagg Bowl last year I can attest to their hospitality!!  Go Linfield!!  Hope my guys get a chance to view the West Coast in a few weeks.  But they have to take care of business in the frozen tundra of PA first.

Best of luck for Saturday!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

I'm hoping DesertCat1, TuxGuy and all other DIII Footbal Fans will be at the pregame pow-wow at the Elks Lower Sports/Blues Bar this Friday. We'd also like to invite all Cobber Fans in the area to join us. Before entering the club however, you must sign a waiver that you are not offended by any of the following: country music by Sons of the Pioneers, good food and beverage, or good conversation about the playoff game....if you're cool with the above criteria, then you are welcome to enter the magic atmosphere of the ......Mac Elks Club (with lower Sports and Blues bar...where you never tell what happens  ;D  )
