Cats fa natic...think twice here.  From what you've seen of Alex Smith, Utah made a mistake??
Good grief, they didn't lose a game in the year and a half he was the starter and as a non BCS school, Utah was in the Fiesta Bowl (yeah, that means a lot of money).  Utah didn't make a mistake, and the fact that Smith has a $20 million bonus check in his wallet kinda helps too.   Brett saw the writing on the wall himself....his move to Linfield didn't take very long.

Cord glory......the Linfield kicker hardly played at Oregon State.  If he doesn't scare you, fine.  The Cord O coordinator is looking at film right now that tells him that the Cobbers will  be starting a lot of series at or inside the 20 after all the action the kickoff return teams is bound to see...yeah, they'll be on the field a lot I suspect ;)

Don't you just love the bandwagon newbies . . .

And ``rejects'' is just a flat out insult to too many good kids.

Isn't that a statement about the ignorance of the poster rather than a description of the players he accuses? 8)

What exactly was your wager?  I guess I didn't see that post...

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think the MIAC is "all talk."  I believe the MIAC has proven themselves to be a force in the playoffs most years!

Mighty Royal
Perhaps it's just Bethel fans that are all talk. :D

Well, well, well!
I wanted to come on here and mention a couple of things that have come to my mind as I read some of the comments.

Cobbernation - Realism is not your strong suit, and that is ok. I understand rooting for your team, and thinking that they won't lose, and that they will come through when faced with adversity and up against a better team. It is what we as fans all hope for when our team is up against the odds. It is why Disney makes so much money on all those sports movies. I mean who really thought the Mighty Ducks could beat the Hawks or all the other teams they played. However, this is not a movie and the reality is that the Wildcats will win this game handily. Believe me, I know where you are coming from...as a Mariner, and Washington Husky fan - I know where you are coming from. But, the Huskies didn't beat USC (or anyone else for that matter) and the Mariners didn't make the playoffs and the Cobbers season is over on Saturday. So, I respect that you support your team, but realism has to set in at some point, and that point will be the end of the 1st quarter on Saturday.

As for D1 "rejects", one other thing that people haven't mentioned is that at a D3 school you have much more of an opportunity to play more than one sport. From what I know, Dailey is a pretty freakin good baseball player and coming to Linfield gave him the opportunity to play both. Many of our athletes at Linfield play more than one sport, and as a former D1 athlete myself, I know that that is nearly impossible (except in a few instances). Besides, it is not like Linfield got this good over night. We may have gone to the next level in the last two years, but we have been around a long time (ie...50 straight winning seasons, 4 national championships). We have been up there battling with St. John's, and others all along. So, I hardly would say that a couple of D1 players are the reason we are where we are.

Bottom line...in the words of one of my 7th grade students, "Don't hate me cause you ain't me!"

Rockcat - Answer your stinkin phone when I call. You can talk to Ty all night long on the phone but can't call me back ever. JERK!

Cobbers welcome to the Catdome (the only dome without a roof)...where our fans are hospitable, the tailgating is awesome, and the football team wins championships.

The individual awards are nice, but there is only one award that we care about bringing back, and we will go to Salem to pick that one up.

In defense of Cord Glory, i think he was complementing Linfield by saying "A kicker is the least of our worries...." kind of thing.

I am about ready to head top Tulsa, OK for Thanksgiving. Ughhh. Turkey, Big 12 football, and fundmanetal christianity shoved down my throat all weekend. Oh well, There is always the nfl and thoughts of Saturday....

I am going to make my predicition since I may be off-line much of the next few days.

Linfield 42

Safe travels to everyone.

There is a rumor that pending a 'cat win, I may make a dome appearance for the quarters...
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

All of this talk is evidence for a D-II run. My point proven.

MR,
Another .500 season in the books!  Go Royals!  Bethel fans like to live out their playoff dreams through their MIAC rivals.

LiveWith9,

It's great to have you back on the boards.  I love the quote from Ort.  Have you noticed the picture under my name?  Look familiar?

Does this Elliot cat appreciate all the B.J.'s he gets daily on this board. As an outsider, I ask, what are you going to do with yourselves when he's gone?

Must be nice to be super talented and located in the armpit of Oregon.

LINFIELD has several kickers and the kick-off specialist is also  a contributing member of the baseball team, something very few D1 players get to do unless they are sprinters.

Oregon is not that populated of a state. High school athletes know each other by face recognition even if they are 250 miles away. Brett Elliott attended one of the larger suburban schools and is a home boy who came back. He plays with guys whose senior class had anywhere from 50 to 100 people in many cases.

Thanks Spirit - that was my point.

So what would Linfield fans say is the weakest spot on the team?? And if someone says "none" I might fight somebody  Notice i didn't say "weak" i just said "weakest"
To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Ha ha. So original. Calling Oregon an armpit? Rich. Too rich. Let me guess? next you are going to say that Elliott once went to a d1 school?

Once he is gone. I am going to watch the dvd's of the back to back Stagg Bowls he won us.

A couple of games in a row LINFIELD made way too many errors and were penalized.

Who the hell are you and where are you from? The armpit of Oregon! I will simply chalk that up as the comment of moron who is probably from the midwest and thinks that anything other than a corn field, or wheat field is a waste of God's earth. If you have been out here even once, then you would not ever make that comment. What do you get when you mix the mountains with the ocean, and all the green that you can handle...God's Country aka The Pacific Northwest!

That was a joke. I love Oregon,. Was there a few years back. Thought the Corvallis(Sp?) area was dull, but took the drive to Newport, and was amazed. Most of the state is real clean.

Didn't mean to get your water boiling.
