Field's frozen?

That's NCAA money maker?

DenS,

It's great up here, only 35° right now, but bright and sunny, and will be 45° this afternoon. It's an empty feeling, however.  We all know where we wanted to be today.

Best of luck to those still playing.

I know the wind is out of our sails so do many of you care what Whitewater does today? I'm smelling Monkey StompTM.  They're up 16 to 0 Vs. Wesley Wolverines in the first quarter in freezing weather - 1 hour game delay due to snow and ice.

The Beaver is performing his usual magic so far.

Is this the Best of the West vs the Least in the East?

As many of us thought the Championship may have been played in the Catdome last Saturday.

Small correction:  If you're talking about today it's the Best in the West vs. the _________(fill in blank) of the South.  For Stagg it's looking like Best in the West vs. _______of the North.  Least of the East got shut down today!
Go Cats!

It's sunny, not a cloud in the sky and about 45* here at the CatDome...   >:(

Brett Elliott wrote an article for the Linfield Review

Football not just a game for graduating senior

there are also a game story and a sport ed piece on the 'Cats that is very well done by Aaron Chantler

Congrats on the season 'Cats for a great effort in the un-offical Stagg Bowl.

Nice stuff by Elliott. I really hope he makes it at the next level, hopefully some team will give him a shot.

So does anyone know or have an idea of what is the near future for Elliott and Allen? i.e. combine invites, overseas play, etc.

Brett's column brought  a tear to my eyes as well....so heartfelt and true....he capsulizes the reason that we all love the Catdome and the student/athletes that have walked thru the tunnel!!!!

For a half century (50 Years) the Wildcats have built a tradition of success.....this chapter closes....another will open in 2006.

Thank you to all of the Seniors who move forward in your life pursuits...you will never be forgotten....you have left a legacy of greatness and a solid foundation for many to follow...thank you to all you have given to Linfield and the legacy.....

Long live the Catdome!!!!

Intelligent guy, that Elliott.  I, too, hope he gets his chance to continue his career at the next level.  What is his major?

The 4 most devistating losses (in my opinion) in recent Linfield Football History:

1. Loss to UW-WW, West Region Final 2005
Wildcats excellent chance to repeat...which is rare. Had all the tools to do it. Ran up against a great team in Whitewater and didn't get the job done. The game vs Whitewater may turn out to be the mythical title game of 2005 with the 2 tops teams in the nation battling it out at the CatDome. Possibly one of the most exciting games in DIII History with 10 lead changes, especially for the victors....
2. Loss to Central, Miracle in the Mud 2000
This was our first shot at a playoff game. We thought we had it won at the end and all I remember is the ref in the corner raising his arms to signal the touchdown...everyone was stunned at the CatDome after the refs met at half field and after a conference gave the victory to Central. Very flukey....after the failed field goal and scrum a Central lineman had handed the ball to someone who ran it into the endzone after, I don't think anyone really knows exactly how the runner got the ball along with several other mysteries that have never been solved or fully explained.
3. Loss to Findley, Ohio, NAIA Champinship game 1992
Linfield was loaded this year. Looking back we didn't play to our strengths and were somewhat intimidated by Findley. Findley turned out to be a bunch of thugs and loosing to thugs is much worse than loosing to a class team.
4. Loss to SJU in West Final
This was a real battle and although we lost, it was a great game, very close and SJU went on to win the Stagg Bowl.

Seoul: His major will be of no substantial assistance to him in his attempt to make the next level but may be to him thereafter.

I would have really liked to have seen St. John's play Linfield this year.  St. John's beat Concordia on the road and Concordia played  Linfield tough on the road.  St. John's lost at Whitewater and gave up 34 pts, (although that doesn't look so bad now considering how Whitewater's offense has been rolling and the fact that St. John's had 8 turnovers).  Of course you had an epic battle with Whitwater at home.  I really think it would have been a great game.   Oh well, maybe next year.
