Frank
I know that you are a positive force on the website here....however, I was just trying to help you understand Wildcat 11's point of view...because I certainly saw it that way as well, even though you may not have meant it that way.  Hey, even my wife and I had a misunderstanding, once...er, ah...twice, three times....aah, ah ;D

I am amazed now...This is the first time I heard not one, but two reports that a whistle was blown during the Miracle in the Mud scrum...The plot thickens...I wonder what else went on down there....Just think... I bet the SID from SOU could write a movie around that  5 seconds as we enter the minds of the players, fans and coaches..."When Time Stood Still"  or "The Five Seconds"....Sorry guys...sometimes I am just full of it...I know :D

criswyly: No offense taken. We aim to please.

If I am correct the CFL puts the ball in the air more as they only have three downs. Also the field is not as wide but don't know if its 100 yards or not. Of coarse I'd like to see BE in the NFL but if that doesn't pan out do you guys think the CFL wiuld be a good fit for him. Linfield had a WR who played on a CFL team for awhile so that leads me to Casey Allen........Any thoughts

Frank,
No offense here either....It just shows how we all have different perceptions of the same event.  I am sure you are a great guy...maybe we'll get to meet at a game someday.  If you're ever in Mongolia I'll provide room and board.

The hunting and fishing is great here...wolves are in season all year round.

Swede,
The CFL playing field is 110 yards long and 65 yards wide

Seoul: His major will be of no substantial assistance to him in his attempt to make the next level but may be to him thereafter.

Duh, I didn't say it would ::) I said it's good he's intelligent & can make a living if it (an NFL/CFL career) isn't in the cards.
You sound like an aspiring young man yourself, planning on making & having an NFL career yourself. Unfortunately, for every young man like you planning for your future Canton induction speech, injury or a host of other factors not in your control have a way of setting you back.  Do I think he is in that small % of players with the talent to play in the NFL/CFL? Yes I do. However, when you're older, you to will experience a multitude of players of equal or greater ability than BE that never make it. Being a garbage collector is an admirable profession, but not when you were a former stud qb.
My friend, look past the trees to see the forest, ok?

Yes, if I'm not mistaken frank turned 19 last week.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss: Yes - 19 and trying to decide what I'm going to do with my life when I grow up!

"Perhaps we should cease referring to the quarterfinals as the championship game until next Sunday."

No truer words could ever be spoken except what changes after next Sunday? Next Saturday is the Stagg Bowl. The winner is the National Champion. No matter who it is nothing changes next Sunday.

"If the Alliance coaching staff can squeak out another of their ever-so-convincing 10-7/30-27 victories then McMinnville will look like just another ....mishap."

When did the coaches start playing?

We must be playing golf here and you are asking for a "Mulligan"

Apparently 44-41 is more convincing? And Mounts coaches had nothing to do with that ever-so-convincing score.

You apparently did not see either of those games so you can't possibly know the score did not indicate the true quality of either of those games. Both St Johns(Oh my God a team from the dominant West) and Mount came into the game scoring over 50 points a game. Does 10-7 somehow diminish a well played defensive game that came down to the last play of the game?

Bridgewater-Mount was a good game as well. You take great plays by both teams. Back and forth scoring. BW coming back in the fourth quarter to score a TD and a chance for an onside kick to try and get the ball back and score again. Mount recovers the onside kick, runs out the clock to win by three. How many points do you need to win by to impress you? You also had a Stagg Bowl record or two broken in that game.

Sounds like a couple of good games no matter who the teams were. Oh I forgot if it's not Linfield, it's not the championship.

So how does your "7" point win stack up in your scenario? Monumental? Or just 1/3 of a Monkey Stomp.

"If UWW beats MUC, I will always be pissed at the NCAA for cheating the players, coaches, and fans out of the experience of the Stagg Bowl again (they had placed the WIAC school in the North before, why on earth they wouldn't do it this year is beyond comprehension), and watching these two great teams battle it out in front of a national TV audience. Even if the 'Cats were to lose, at least we could have said we went to back to back Stagg Bowls and showed everyone what this team was capable of on national TV."

I promise last time on this subject here.

You are pissed at the NCAA because they did not ship a "west bracket" team to the "north" so you could have an easier run to Salem and assume that WW was just good enough to eliminate all comers from the North/East bracket  and then you would surely take care of business on national TV.
So losing in the Stagg would prove to the viewers that you are losers on the National stage and that's OK. Just don't make us lose at home. You were the #1 bracket and team with home field advantage throughout the playoffs what more could the NCAA do for you. Give you a free pass to Salem?

The NCAA cheated the players, coaches and most important the fans out of a trip back to the Stagg? What happened, did I miss something? Did the NCAA change the rules and declare WW the winner of the West without playing any games?

Who cost you a return trip to Salem?

Come on you guys you have way too much class to continue this rant.

As I said earlier nobody had any problem last year with your cruise through the bracketts. A 54-0 stomp of Rowan to get to Salem. (Oh goodie we get to play the east bracket patsie to get to the Stagg!)

Tell me this converstion didn't take place.

"Double goodie the South bracket upset the North. We are   in."

I never felt that way. You had a terrific team and it showed last year. This years team was super too!

Was I pissed MUC got "BEAT" by MHB, you bet but the NCAA had nothing to do with it. MHB hung 17 points on us in the fourth quarter, on the playing field, and earned a trip to Salem.

I doubt if any of your players or coaches feel they got screwed.

Ask them and prove me wrong.

And finally I'm pissed at the NCAA too because they cheated me out of a chance to watch Mount play Linfield in this years Stagg Bowl.

There are a few who still haven't moved on. See my previous two posts.

George Thompson,

Thanks for being a voice of reason on the OAC board.

It is real frickin' simple win and you move on.

Lose and you go home.

That's what everybody wants isn't it?

I sure as heck do not slight any of Mount's opponents prior to or in the Stagg Bowls of the past. Win or lose. They got there the same way we did.

Well maybe one when the starting quarterback from Trinity (the real one who plays in a real conference) decided to celebrate the Stagg Bowl the weekend before the game and was arrested and suspended for the Stagg Bowl game.     Ouch!  Nice going.
