Tux Guy,

Never could we get upset at one of the best Tailgaters at the Catdome!

I can assure you Dad is smiling upstairs today with the announcement of Brett Elliot receiving the annual Willis Baker MVP Award :)

QuoteHave a good flight in (Flights into Roanoke are usually rocky with all the mountains, ugh!!!)  Too bad you can't bring Chuck and the big Linfield flag with you!

Yes and about 100 other of us. If Brett gets to go with his family I trust it won't be too painful but that damn! thought will probably crust through his brain every now and then.

Damn!

I know, I know and I truly don't see how this game is going to be as good as the game at the CatDome.  I may be wrong, but . . . I read every one of the posts from the game even after I knew the score and it was exhilirating because it was such a taught emotional game.  You will stay for the weekend, I hope.  It would be great to meet those of you whom we have "met" on the boards.  Stone Station will be there as a welcome to Virginia just like last year!  Maybe Chuck will get to come and Tim too and bring the flag, after all.  I'd like another picture with them!!  We need to get ourselves such a grand flag as that!  Safe trip!!!  (I HATE to fly into Roanoke because of the cross winds.  The last time, I came into Greensboro and drove up.)  Hate that airport, love the city.

Olinemom, Thanks for the nice posts these past couple of weeks! Sorry we wont be out to see you this week, but thats how the ball bounces sometimes. Enjoy the game and take good care of Brett if you get a chance to see him. He's a special young man with a great future ahead of him.

We will do our best!!!

Is there a story behind that award we should know about?

Brett Elliot
Congratulations and I hope you make it to the NFL for Linfield and all of D3 fandom!...If Brett makes it to the NFL I'd actually start following that division again.

99th percentile there...I was amazed when I saw the playoff brackets...I really thought the the NCAA committee might listen to Pat....Fact is D3football.com is the major source of information in the marketplace...and everyone knows that you need to listen to the marketplace to be the most successful.
As the old saying goes, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"...so lets keep squeaking...they'll listen sooner or later.

Cam Cat,

Long story on the foundation of the Award.  It was begun during the Coach Ad era and was so named by the Coach due to the significant volunteer contributions made to the Cat football program over two and a half decades.

Coco,

Any plans on traveling to the land of sky blue waters any time soon?

My Yak,

No, not for a while. The trip a few months ago was great, but I don't think I could handle your winter weather.

We'll be going to Hawaii in a couple months, though. I need to get my tan back.

You're right, Olinemom. Soccer is a Communist sport.

Mrs. Coco was a French and Spanish teacher.

I did have the privilege of going to a university where the major fall sport was soccer and there was no football program. After graduating from football heaven, i.e. St. John's, it was quite a transition going to law school at St. Louis U. and not having a venue for college football on Saturday afternoons. It did help that there was a rather large brewery in town to help drown one's sorrows for not being in Collegeville. Needless to say, I never went to a soccer game.
