Thanks for the link, Foss. That's a great article.

The local paper gave Elliott and the team plenty of ink in Tuesday's paper as well. He's such a deserving kid, and I think he'll turn some heads.

Foss...I guess that makes some logistic sense. But why don't they split the actual "Top 4" Teams in to each of the brackets so you have a chance of the actual best 4 teams playing in the Semis? I forgot, you've already asked that question....  ;D

Hey Andy J:
Update on Travis... he is still unsure about his future playing status. Another MRI looms over the break. He has a rare and difficult to diagnose issue going on. No one knows at this moment what the outcome might be. I can tell you this, he is a Hazenburg type athlete: agile, fast, quick, great hands and tough! If he can't play it will be very discouraging to him because he loves football more than most of us do.
As to QB rumors... no Gunderson in the admissions process and sources close to Erik A. say "no way". He is the starter (finally) at Tennesee and likes the national attention (in terms of his future). Benzel is solid and can throw very well. Since most of the O line returns, any QB will get some great protection. He does not have the charisma that Brett or Tyler have and seems to be a quiet leader rather than the vocal type. If the CATS can develop a crediable running game, that will help with the QB situation.  With a running game that provides a threat and demands attention, Benzel will be a dangerous passer with a stable of super receivers.

Thanks for the props guys, I appreciate it.

Congrats to BE. He deserved it.

I don't think this has been posted yet. It's an article on him today from a newspaper in Utah. It talks about his love of just playing and his feelings on coming to Linfield. Also, a little bit on his aspirations of making it to the next level. I don't know how to shorten links, but here it is:

Nice article on Elliott.....

It's official, Elliott Wins the Gagliardi Trophy

Does anyone have a picture of it?  I've heard it is very impressive.

Great football talent but even finer human being.  Could Linfield football ever have a better ambassador?  I've never met him but what do those of you who have or know him have to say?

Congrats to Brett on his great seasons at Linfield. I am sure he will do well in the future.

Would have been great to have seen him play in Southern California.

I see him a few times a week. He's always called me by name in greeting me. I've also had him out to my afterschool program. He was the first one to break out a game and find a child to play with. He's one of those guys that you would like to see your child or children look up to. I can't wait to see his career unfold. Great player even better person.

Hey B Eagle:
I believe Brett will be playing in the Las Vegas Bowl which is just a short drive north of SoCal.

Tez: Just curious about your connection to Bob Marley. We may have something in common (as in good music) besides the Cats, the Catdome, local school programs and football. E-mail me.

How many sacks? WOW.

They went beyond Tremendously. The line deserves more credit then what they get.

With Elliott winning the Gagliardi Trophy, I think it's a reflection of not only Brett but of the whole Linfield program. The O-line, the coaching staff, the reciveing core. Everyone. Job well done 'Cats, job well done

Amen to that!
About Elliott.. saw him after a game autographing programs for a group of little kids.. big smile on his face and theirs... indicative of the team, coaches, and the program. Whenever I  talk to players they always refer to me as "sir"... these guys play hard on the field and show respect off of it. Can't say enough good things about Linfield football.

GO 'CATS!

CamCat, I've never talked to him personally, but I happened to be near him on the field after the UWW game. On several occassions, little kids came up to him (one with his Dad yelling at him to come back, probably because he knew it wasn't the best timing since BE had just experienced such a painful defeat). It was similar to what Tez18 stated. Each time, BE bent down and asked the kids(s) how they were doing and answered all their questions. Win or lose he was their hero. I could tell he was fighting back tears and must have had a ton on his mind, but he sucked it up like the leader he is and calmly addressed the little Brett wannabes. That's when a guy's true colors are shown. Anyone can be nice and happy when they win by 40. But how do they treat people after experiencing a crushing defeat? That's when I went from hoping The Butcher would win the award because he was a 'Cat to KNOWING that he deserved the award and has the characteristics that would make Coach Gags proud. BE did everything we could have hoped he could for DIII and Linfield on and off the field.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.
