hscoach...it is fun to see your love for the program there. You will be runnin' on that energy it is plain to see. No reason why not. Nothing that's built is forever.

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to point out that "fbfan" who has been posting on Daily Dosage is not me, "footballfan413."  My karma has taken a hit lately and there might be a connection.  I have no problem taking responsibility for my own comments but don't want to do it for someone elses!! ;D ;D

MonroviaCat

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Festive Kwanzaa or at the the very least, a few good days off work watching some football (though be it of the less meaninful D-I Bowl variety).  It's been fun this year and look forward to next season and more exciting D3 discussion and debate.  Probably won't be too active till we ramp up for the season!  Best Wishes All!
Go Cats!

Merry Christmas from the Cocos, too.

GHC, last night Coco and I went out to dinner with Little Coco and his girlfriend and I had a drink called a Miami Iced Tea. It was pretty good, but didn't have quite the uh.... zing of your longies.

Desertcat, where are you? Nurse Goodbody asked me to tell her Linfield friends Merry Christmas, and to send you a special hug.

hscoach,

I better reply to your post before you delete it!  ;)

Now, I asked you a question on the blog that you never responded to.  So, since you're spamming our board with a post you worked very hard on...I'll ask my question again:

Do you think there is there something to say about teams in your conference knowing your weakness/strengths/schemes better than teams outside of your region in a playoff format?

Could that translate into some of the success Capital had in playing MUC closer than some this post season?  Capital has had to opportunity to play Mount 3 times in the past 14 months and if you look at the scores you see Capital play Mount better in each contest:

10/2/2004: 49-7
10/1/2005: 42-24
12/3/2005: 34-31

Would that playoff game been as close if Dec 3rd 2005 was that was the first time Capital played Mount in years?  What would happen if Whitewater, SJU, or Linfield would play Mount 3 times in a 14 month span?

I mean, because the team that played Linfield toughest of all in 2004 (sans UMHB) was Whitworth (NWC).

Just because Whitworth played Linfield so close does that mean they were one of the elite teams in the country in 2004? Linfield beat Rowan 52-0 in the Semi's but I'm sure most people outside the NWC would say no way that Whitworth should be considered a top 5 team.

Another example is in 1999 when PLU won the Stagg. The Lutes finished 2nd in the NWC behind Willamette and then beat the Bearcats in the first round (closest game the Lutes had in the playoffs) in '99 to launch the 'Lutes run to the championship. Again, just because Willamette beat PLU in the reg. season and played them closest in the playoffs....does that mean Willamette should have been consider one of the elite in 1999? They didn't advance past the first round...so probably not.

I think that the success Capital had this year speaks for itself but I also think there is really something to say about being so familiar with a conference opponent when the playoffs roll around.

11,

Please forgive hscoach if he doesn't respond right away. He's busy making moving arrangements. I've only given him until the end of Jan. to get his stuff out of my new rental home in Ohio.

WOW,   Looks like my little Capital Dig got some chests puffing!

I understand that 2 of the losses were to MUC. But lets look at it this way......

So a team plays 3-4 top teams in the country, goes down in each one by 3 or less points. Great games, but still a goose egg. They go on to finish 6-4, are they top 10,or top 20 because they lost close games to good teams?  ???

( I in no way ment to put down Capital or its alums in my posts)
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Here is another Linfield Video that I down loaded that any Linfield fan should enjoy:

I took this from a Defensive End highlight tape that was making the rounds a few years back.  The video clip is of Linfield great, Bruce Assily (1996-1999).  The video is a little choppy in some spots but there are some outstanding plays that were put together here.

Also, again, here is the video clip of the goal post being toppled after the 1998 game vs. Willamette.

Goal Post goes down as Linfield owns the streak by themselves

The forum is now open for suggested hobbies for Wildcat11 to take up in 2006...he's officially bored. I'm thinking mountain biking, maybe some spring salmon fishing, or a few hikes with the dog.

wildcat11:  my response to your question has been posted on the blog.

BTW, great question!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!
