I know this is a football board. I would like to remind everyone that there is a baseball board (for those who care).
Good job! where will I find it? Also congrats on passing the 200 post and thanks for handing out all the warm karma. :)

"Celebrating 10 years, the Tiger Pep Band of DePauw University, hailed as the best pep band in Division III athletics by NCAA officials two years in a row!  Selected as the Official Band for the 2006 SCAC Basketball Tournament in Memphis, Tennessee, we're a student-run organization of over 30 liberal arts and music students, faculty, staff, and community members that's been performing for Tiger football and basketball since 1995!"

This is what I'm taling about about! A Pep Band that ROCKS!
There has to be students , faculty, staff etc. at Linfield who could put together a Pep Band that's more than just a few musicians "jamming" together at a football game. I miss the live music, but I really don't want to listen to a high school band perform.

"I've never understood individual awards in a team sport such as football. They don't make much sense to me. I think they are silly. I wouldn't be able to throw the ball if there were no receivers to catch it or linemen to block. This award really should say 'Linfield Football Team' instead of 'Brett Elliott.'"

Brett Elliot upon accepting the Melberger Award Tuesday afternoon as the top individual player in NCAA Division III.

Did the end of the SC/Texas game kind of remind you of the Linfield/Whitewater game????A bad dream was just revisited!

I was telling my wife before the game.... after she said that SC should blow them out, that i was afraid of it being similar to the Linfield/Whitewater game.   I'm a big SC fan ... living here in So Cal, this was a hard last few weeks for the Slide family with both Linfield and SC losing heart breakers.

SC going for it on 4th and 2 with 2 minutes left instead of pinning Texas deep, well.... that took me over the edge.

Yes! It did bring back that nightmare!
We were talking about that in our house, too. Lots of similarities.

This is from the Linfield Football web page:

...  Elliott is hopeful of landing an opportunity to play professionally. His destiny could be determined during two upcoming all-star games for which he has been invited: The Las Vegas All-American Classic, Jan. 14 in Las Vegas; and at the Hula Bowl, Jan. 21 at Honolulu. The National Football League draft is scheduled for April 23-24.

Yes it did for sure.  All three bowl games the past 3 days with a 3 point margin of victory then the # 2 team beats #1.  That hits too close to home for us Wildcat fans.

Do I dare expose your ulterior motive for wanting to bring back the band? I for one know of your secret desire to come out of retirement enroll in a class like Ball Room Dancing (It worked for Matt Leinart) start getting back in shape so you can be the new Linfield Drum Major.  8) I can see you now strutting your stuff at halftime leading your own personal Wildcat Band.  It would be a beautiful thing.

You will find it under other d3 sports.....

Cam Cat,

Well whatever it takes to "get the job done" my Dad always said.....so whatever it takes to Bring Back The Band, I'm game!  May not be a pretty site but if we get a Band back at the Catdome it'll all be worth the pain.

I'm certain they'll find a way to get an outstanding leader of the Band because it would be a real tragedy to miss the Tailgating Action before the game !

Okay guys, I e-mailed Faun Tiedge the new music chair at linfield and got in my two cents on bringing back the band and a marching one at that along with some of your other ideas. Now lets all e-mail her or Scottie till they BRING BACK THE BAND.

Every cat who posts is getting good karma from me. New Year's resolution.   :)

Anybody heard from #11
GHC and whatever happened to LND. I really liked the guy.

I just emailed Professor Tiedge and encouraged her to help "Bring Back the Band".
Thanks for leading the way.

Swede,

I just sent a lengthy email to Faun Tiedge as well. I pointed out in my email that the unveiling of a Wildcat Marching Band for the new Vivian Bull Music Building would be a wonderful legacy for Linfield.  At the very least I pleaded to Bring Back The  Pep Band!

I suspect if we can get a few more of the Cat posters to send her an email it will hopefully produce some results and we can once again be listening to the Linfield Fight Song "live vs. canned"!

Bring Back The Band

p.s. Real simple to send an email to Faun Tiedge.  Just go to the Linfield homepage and go to staff directory.  Take a few minutes and thousands of Catdome fans will be ever so grateful.
