Maybe I missed this already but why is Brett Elliot on the "East" Team for the Hula Bowl?  Seems kind of strange to me....

Where does it say East?

Tez, I saw him listed as "East" on the Hula Bowl Web site where they have the 2006 roster "news" release:  It's still that way now see-----

Hello to the great organizers of Linfield Bandgate 2006  ;)

Mount Union has always had a pep band, but started a marching band a while (5/6 years?) back, and it has grown rather rapidly.  It was fairly pathetic the first few years, but now is quite accomplished, and performs at events other than just the football games.

The reason Pat has generally seen only the Pep Band is due to the marching band's policy to not march after the Fall Quarter is over.  This past year they did perform at the first playoff game, but I think that was it.  From there the Pep Band steps up, and plays for the remainder of the playoffs.

The average middle aged Mount fan (of which I am one) really doesn't care about the band one way or another.  Seeing as how Mount has a season ticket holder base with about 70% being 70 and over, I am sure the older folks just LOVE the band.

With the success that Linfield has enjoyed these past years on the football field, I would assume that whatever band was started, it would have a chance to grow along with the football program.

Good luck with the endeavor, and here's to a Ohio/Oregon purple matchup one of these days.

Bretts stats
4-10 28 yards 2 int 1 fumble 2 sacks :'(
rushing 2 for a net -15 yards

Other three west QB's a combined 7-26 51 yards 0 int. 0 fumble 2 sacks
rushing 6 for a net -13 yards.

Ouch!  I'm surprised that his stock is on the rise with those numbers.  Of course, a bad O-Line will make a great QB look like they belong in the pee-wee leagues and it sounds like the one he was playing behind was pretty bad.
{Clever sign-off goes here.}

I wonder if anyone on the oline was blocking for any of those QB's?  Sheesh...can't believe the d secondary coaches could scheme that quickly for an offense they had no knowledge of.  Man...give a brother some time to through...looks like all the QB's were running for their lives.

Can we all say "Aloooooooohhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa."

Well since there are so many people interested in the Linfield pepband, I was wondering if I could  get a list from you folks of people who would like/be willing to donate funds or services to the cause. Also, if any of you are alumni and can get a hold of other alumni who would be interested in helping, please send their information my way. On another related note, I wil be playing at two games this weekend, the 20th and 21st. If any of you want to play at the game let me know and I can give you the meeting time and place.

Thanks for the info Abby...put me on your list. You have my email. I am offically donating financially to the cause and if I can find my trombone in storage and can actually read notes again I will try and play at a game or 2! I'll also try and talk TuxGuy and Mrs. TuxGuy into playing also, I'm sure he still has his trombone and Mrs. Tuxguy has her flute!!!

Tez, tuxguy accurately pointed out a few posts before that not every user gets access to the Modify and Delete buttons. Those are privileges earned with a touch of experience.

Hi Abby,
You are new to the board it appears, so allow me to introduce myself.  I am a Whitewater fan who got to know many of these posters during the play-off season.  I had the pleasure of attending "THE GAME," and enjoying great Linfield hospitality during the tailgate party.  I was impressed with your great team, facilities and welcoming fans.  Tuxguy and Wildcat11 have been very kind to offer to get me copies of the game as well.  So, in their names,  I would also love to donate to the cause of "Bringing Back The Band!"   It is the least I can do especially since they don't seem to want to ask me to pay them for their time and expense of making a DVD and mailing it to me.  UWW has a great marching/pep band that really added to the atmosphere of every game.  There were a core of about 20 who were especially supportive of the team during it's play-off run this year going over and above the call of duty on several occasions.  They came back to campus to play at the St. John's game during their Thanksgiving break and earlier in the season, rode a bus for 6 hours to play at the UWW/UW-Stout game and 6 hours back despite the fact that Stout did not allow them to play in the stadium.  I will never forget how they stood in the rain in the parking lot and played the school song as the players took the field for the second half.  We were behind 10-7 and the players went from walking to running on the field fired-up as the heard the school song!  Their support was invaluable!!!  I will donate in their name as well.  I will e-mail you with my info and let me know where and when to send the check when everything is organized.

           BRING BACK THE BAND!!!
