Touchdown Tommy

Where is my buddy WC11?  I know he is lurking.

GHC,

Can you confirm or deny the accusations brought forth this week by Mr. Reilly?

Touchback Tommygirl,
Now you must know that WC11 and I are diehard 49er fans.  When I show up at the Superbowl party on Sunday I will be wearing my #16 Joe Montana Jersey (11 has a matching one)  As for talking smack, since you are new back on the board I don't think you are quite worthy of my A game Tommygirl, I will save that for a little later,  We want to break you in a little at a time.

I stand behind my quote because you need to remember that I was speaking about that one game much more than the entire season. That day Linfield had 20 yards on 11 carries by the two RB's while Elliott had 67 pass attempts in mostly four and five wideout sets.

Not much of a running game that day.

Sorry fa natic.....lots of rumors.....none that are going to be repeated by me on the board.

Although when it comes to RB's, the freshman Jon Montalvo looked promising to me when he played in "garbage time".   The next RB might already be on campus.

I thought he looked okay too but because it was garbarge time, it was hard to say whether he was good or not.  Also, it would have been nice to see him behind the first-string line to get a true assessment.  I thought he had good vision and good cut-back ability but his ability to shed blockers was a little dubious.

Yeah, I was listening to the radio and they were interviewing a couple of old time Packer fans who said they, and others they knew, were planning on purchasing their tickets at game time for Super Bowl I and instead were given free tickets by complete strangers outside of the stadium who had plenty leftover. Something tells me that happening nowadays is right around zero percent.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss;
Times have changed. Who gets tickets to the game anyway? Corporate sponsers? TV and movie stars?
Why spend the mortgage money when the best seat (only seat?) is at your own house.

My quote on the lack of holes was more in referance to the WW game because that is the only time we really needed it.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Thanks, Tuxguy!!   It is exactly what I was looking for!! A game that great deserves to be shared and I intend to pass it around!!  I do count many of the Linfield posters as friends and view them as class acts, especially you!!  It was a tough crowd back in November, as I recall, (LOL)  but once respect was earned, respect was given on both sides, IMHO  Good luck  to the Cats.  It has been my experience that when a great player leaves, there is usually an abundance of talent hungry for their chance and I am sure that will happen for the Cats.  Although, Brett left enormous shoes to fill!
         Thanks again and GO WARHAWKS!   I mean, SEAHAWKS!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

Linfield Wildcat Classic Clip

1996 clip of Linfield fullback, Brandon Flood, in a game at Western Oregon State College. With about three seconds remaining in the first half Linfield just decides to run out the clock but Flood has different ideas has he turns a short gain into a 86 yard TD run.

Thanks Wildcat 11 for the UPS clip.  It is getting my juices going  with anticipation as to what the Wildcats will look like next year.

I just researched that Brandon Flood 1996 Classic 86 yard touchdown run with 3 seconds left in the half you posted.
That was Jay Locey's first year as coach, the season record was only 5 and 4 and Linfield won that game 20 to 13.  Could we say that that one play was crucial in creating the 50 consecutive winning seasons record?

Let's enjoy the off season and expect a great spring and wonderful summer weather.
