hey 11, your videos are boring TDT.  Could you please show some highlight films from the 03 West Region Final or maybe that Johnnies win in McMinnville?

This just proves...once a donkey...always a donkey... :-*

TDT,
I'd like to see the 2004 film of the Wilcats vs. The Johnnies.

Opps, Thats right, the johnnies laid an egg that year and ducked the Cats!

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Nice to see ESPN catch back up to the story about Willamette and Pearl Harbor. Our own Tom Wilson wrote that piece for us in 2003 and it bears repeating:

What a great article.  I'll have to pass that on to my father-in-law whose college career was interrupted by WWII. He might know a couple of those players.

Pat,

Thanks for posting the link to that story.  That was one of my favorites. Tony Fraiola, in the front row, died just over a year ago. I went to high school with his son, Tony, Jr. who attended Linfield for a time. The family is proud of their D3 connections.

Tony was ill at the time I was gathering interviews.  Unfortunately, we were never able to connect.  A few of those that were interviewed lacked internet access, so I printed out and mailed copies of the article to some of the participants.

The concept of an internet media organization dedicated to D3 football was foreign to just about all of them.  They thought it was a neat concept.  They were happy to be remembered.  A few sent me handwritten thank you notes.

Some of the former Willamette players throwing out a few digs at their NWC competition back then.  They referred to Linfield as Linseed.

Yeah, that Linfield/ Willamette rivalry goes back a LONG way.

Looks like TDT has made his smite rounds again!

Great story JT, and the espn version was well-done also. It is weird to see the guy from that old MTV movie show doing human-interest for espn still.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

"Linseed"? That's the best they could come up with?  And to think they were college educated...

Maybe back then, Linseed was considered fightin' words?

I'll have to ask my father-in-law what they used to call Willamette.

The fact that you wrote that two days ago and you're the ONLY response since mine kind proves my point. Where the heck is everyone?

The combine is coming up... Has Elliot been invited? I saw in my local weekly paper that he had but I haven't seen it anywhere else.  Anyone know?
