I subscribe to the ESPN insider stuff, and their analysis is something people on this board don't want to hear.

As do I. I am a "half glass full" guy in general, but the stuff about BE is not great.

I am more worried about the '06 Hardin Simmons team then I am about the '06 johnnies, TT.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Wildcat 11 and anybody else:
I am having problems with my Windows Media Player playing some of the clips.  #10 and #9 play from a web page called putfile.com but #7 and #8 seem to only open with WMP.  It says that it "can't find network," which is crap.  Anyway, I have checked to see that it is not set to "work offline" and have messed with the streaming proxies and still nothing.  Any ideas short of paying Microsoft for help?  It works playing anything already on computer just not playing from a web page.  Tried to save the file and and then play it on WMP and I do get the first few seconds and then it stops!     ??? ??? ???   Any ideas?

I was going to suggest saving the file first but you already tried that.  Hmm.. Are you running the latest version of media player (version 10 is latest but #9 worked wll too)?  It seems there were some "issues" with versions 7 and 8 that was shipped with the original software of many computers.

Another thing you might try is, once you have downloaded the file, go to your web browse and tell it to work offline (under "file" on  the main tool bar). That might stop windows media player from trying to look online for a source. The two were really designed to work hand in hand.

May not work but worth a shot.

Thanks for trying to help, Cat Fa Natic!  +karma for you.  I tried the offline thing but no cigar.  When I download the file first and then tried to open it with WMP (and I have downloaded a new WMP 10 version) it does begin to work and I get about 3 seconds of the clip and then it just stops as if it didn't download the whole file.  I don't know why but there is a communication problem when it tries to play from a web page!   Bummer!  But thanks for trying to help!    :-* :-* :-*

'Cats Fa Natic:
I heard there was a scout from the Buffalo Bill's in attendance at the Willamette game.

He was there and he was impressed.  He told me that he will be down looking at BE at the local workouts

Erg... I wish Brett the best and hope he makes it into the NFL, but the Bills...?  Man.  They're the worst bandwagon team in the NFL.  Last year they were all hot on that QB they drafted (name escapes me) so they dump Drew Bledsoe for a kid who's unproven.  He can't cut it so he's dumped for Kelly Holcomb.  I have family in that area, so I say this with the benefit of having heard some of their talk radio.

I'm with you Spirit. In fact, Not only am I more concerned about UMHS than SJU. I'm also more concerned about Concordia then the Johnnies.

Nah, go ahead and post it.  I'd like to hear it even if it's bad.  What else do they say besides slow 40 time?

Glad to hear Concordia earned some well deserved respect..06 should be another good battle in the MIAC but me thinks the J's will get the nod from the coaches when the time comes for their pre-season picks.

bluenote

KennethK...I give Concordia a lot of respect as I do the Johnnies. Which of the 2 teams have more comming back from last years teams? Weren't they both pretty young last year? I think both have their qbs back and a lot of talent on both sides of the ball? I would guess the qb from Concordia is the better of the 2 from what I saw and heard last year. That guy can really run and pass, and he's a tough hombre to boot. Reminded me a little of Joel Clark from Whitworth but I think he's even faster. Plus that ball control offense that Concordia runs can be pretty scarey. It's not flashy but it's hard to stop.

KennethK

Concordia's QB Schumacher graduates which is why I think the J's will prevail.  Brian was a two time mvp in the MIAC and will be tough to replace.  The Johnnie offense brings back 8 with a lot of depth.  The QB will be a third year starter with skill and experience throughout the line up.  The offense averaged 42 a game last year and should do better in 06.  The D for both teams will need to replace about half the starters but both will be solid.  It won't take long to find out who has the edge..J's play the Cobs in September.

Tommygirl,
If your weak a$$ girlyboy fooball team makes it this far the Cats will TCB big time.

Brett's new blog entry lends hope to the idea that he will be drafted by the Rams, thus enabling me to attend Rams games when he miraculously makes the team.

spiritof86, That would make my day, I've been a rams fan forever! Best of luck to Brett and Casey.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

The Rams?!

Well, better than the Bills in any event...

Their QB position is in flux right now, so they might be interested in taking a chance on an unproven commodity. Especially with the new collective bargaining agreement. They could sign him to a minimum salary, test him out a few years and, if he shows promise, sign him to a cheap four-year deal before you move him up into the 1st or second string.
