It is indoor football -
I don't know if the rules have any major differences or if they are pretty much the same -

There are several indoor leagues - a few are just regional -

Arena and Arena2 are partly owned by the NFL and Arena has the contract with NBC -

The smaller leagues are battling to survive - over the last couple of years several teams have been put up for sale on ebay!

Several of the indoor leagues play starters both ways with the exception of a defensive specialist who replaces the quarterback.

The NIFL, UIFL and several other indoor leagues play two platoon football.

The game might be more appreciated by the bluecollar linemen types were the quarterbacks made to play defense.

Sammy Baugh and YA Tittle

MacLeod: As you undoubtedly know, Tittle never played defense professionally, but Baugh did through 1945. What you may not know is that in 1946-48 Graham both played defense and also returned punts. Did any other professional (NFL or AAFC) regularly starting QB do so substantially at a later calendar year? Perhaps Jug Girard did for the Packers in 1949.

In the print out of Pro Football Weekly's 4/2006 issue Brett Elliott is now rated 22 among QB prospects for the forthcoming draft. I believe that this ranking involves some slippage for Elliott vs. prior rankings. His 40 time is listed as 5.14 - which may be the major cause of the slippage. On the other hand Pro Football Weekly, while being historically fairly accurate in its draft predictions, is not necessarily Gospel.

Wow, Y.A. Tittle! Haven't heard his name in awhile. I'm looking at his playing card...#14 with the San Francisco 49'ers.

Yeah, nfldraftscout.com rates him 19 out of 84.  I think he was rated around 11th at one point. I know for sure just a week or so ago he was 17th.

He needs some springs in those shoes...

Frank, how bout Bobby Layne.  Did play defense and did play after World War II.  Yes?  Probably just didnt play defense after WWII.

I seriously doubt it was Layne, but I cant help talking about him as the Lions are my new favorite professional team since they brought in Jon Kitna and that college quarterback who went undefeated for a season at Eddie Prices alma mater.

Maybe it was Steve Grogan, the casual observer might mistake him for a linebacker with that semi tire around his neck.

Just to bounce back and forth between New York and San Francisco how bout ol number 42 Charlie Connerly.  Won the Jim Thorpe Award, though I think that award was professional MVP as opposed to best NCAA defensive back at the time.

Theres at least a Packers tie as it was said Vince Lombardi thought Connerly was the perfect pro.

MacLeod: My source indicates that neither Layne nor Conerly played defense in the pros.

It's 4-20 today. Who's in charge of keeping the Linfield Lacrosse team out of trouble?  :D

Orca Jr.

D,
I'll take care of that one.  They've been pretty well behaved this year so shouldn't be to tough.
There's nothing like being a wildcat.  Some say they understand, but until you've lived it, you have no idea.

So let's see, you don't suppose those girls are scheming on how they can find some unsuspecting male stripper, get him drunk and find out how many ways they can violate him without getting caught and bringing dishonor to Linfield do you? ::)
