64,

Here's your addendum to your PBP (Presidential Briefing Paper).  President Hellie was in fine fettle last night at the reception in his honor at the OR Historical Society.  He is not prone to wearing football jerseys as business attire, so no "51 in 2006" or anything was seen across his chest.  I do believe with proper encouragement from this board and other Wildcat football aficionados perhaps over time he can be properly groomed to become the best (Thespian) Chief Executive Wildcat Football Cheerleader he can be.   The transition from football at Hiram College to Linfield is like going from "football that never was or ever will be to" to championship caliber may take him time to adjust to so maybe we need to cut him some slack.

Let's be patient though as you remember Vivian Bull didn't walk on to the campus passionately in love with Linfield Football.  It took encouragement, cajoling and whatever else from you and other Board (of Trustees) members to properly train and indoctrinate her into believing that all study and no football makes Johnny a dull boy.  She finally got it.  She's no fool. She decided to ride the horse in the direction it's going.  By 2004 I know of no bigger Wildcat Football fan than Vivian Bull.

Re:  The Wildcat Video Cam for all home football games broadcast.
I did talk very briefly with Bruce Wyatt, sporting a cast on his leg, but in order to fund your project we need of course to come up with the $$$ so we need to keep our potential Reno benefactor in our thoughts and prayers.  He's out of town and should be back soon and I'll give him a call.  It is far too early to speculate how likely this will happen.

All we know is that I got him to fly in from Reno to McMinnville for the first time in his life, to attend the White Water game.  He's a big football fan and we showed him a good time though he did experience our only loss on Wildcat field turf.

Do I have your support fellow board members in telling him he has been voted unanimously by the D3 Board as the designated donor of the "Wildcat Video Cam" for all Wildcat home games?

That's right baby, and trust me there is way more beauty to come next year. I hope for a second game, so we can get all of you west coasters off your high horse!!

Here's the score:
Linfield 4   uww 0

Bring back the band!
Bring 'em back and turn 'em loose!
Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Totally. He gets to play the game he loves as a job this season, in a very good league - even if it might be with a "Wizzinator"-user or two. Outside of the NFL and it's farm system NFL Europe, the CFL is regarded as the most talented football league in the world (I'm sure someone will correct me if one of the Arena Leagues is regarded as having better talent, but I believe somebody in the know a while back stated that on here). Also, unlike NFL Europe, where a player has to convince a team they are NFL quality within a couple of years max or they are sometimes out of a job, a guy can have a nice, sustained career in the CFL. Given his pre-draft ranking, I think this was probably realistically the best case scenario for Casey, and a fantastic fit for him. Not to mention the benefits for WRs in that league, including a wider field w/ deeper end zones, only 3 downs (which typically promotes more passing up there), AND those running starts they allow for the WRS before the ball is snapped. Talk about a WR's dream!
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I would be inclined to go with 1_For_27, though I am hoping to have a different team from the midwest. Here you go:

St. John's 4 (as in the overall Johnnie record vs. the Cats) Linfield 0

Phone it in! :o

Great points, Foss.  And let's face it.  Doug Flutie's stint in the CFL sure didn't hurt his career any!   ;D

Only a couple of months before pre-season polls.  I have taken LB's advice putting little credence in such things.  But what the heck..it's a slow friday.  Last year, about this time, Whitewater was best known as the crooked land deal in Arkansas.  The Hawks were ranked 21 pre-season.  Question for you westerners...any team out your way have a shot a being the next WW?

Pay for CFL teams can't be all that great. He'll probably be playing AND working for the man.
{Clever sign-off goes here.}

The minimum pay in the CFL is $32,000 and the average salary is $55,000, although those are Canadian dollars.

Nice to see Casey make the front page of the Blue Bombers website, with a photo even.

Should be a good move for Casey and a great learning experience.

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not, anyway, Jay Locey to be guest speaker for Corvallis HS football event. Nothing huge, I just thought it was cool that the guy is giving back to his alma mater:

Perhaps...but it will be more like this: "You still have to work for the man, eh?"

To say "poor Casey" is really off the mark...I would congratulate him.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
