Probably gone around a couple of times before but we need off-season humor...........
NO FOOTBALL TEAM LEFT BEHIND
1. All teams must make the state playoffs and all MUST win the championship. If a team does not win the championship, they will be on probation until they are the champions, and coaches will be held accountable. If after two years they have not won the championship their footballs and equipment will be taken away UNTIL they do win the championship.
2. All kids will be expected to have the same football skills at the same time even if they do not have the same conditions or opportunities to practice on their own. NO exceptions will be made for lack of interest in football, a desire to perform athletically, or genetic abilities or disabilities of themselves or their parents.  ALL KIDS WILL PLAY FOOTBALL AT A PROFICIENT LEVEL!
3. Talented players will be asked to workout on their own, without instruction. This is because the coaches will be using all their instructional time with the athletes who aren't interested in football, have limited athletic ability or whose parents don't like football.
4. Games will be played year round, but statistics will only be kept in the 4th, 8th, and 11th game.  It will create a New Age of Sports where every school is expected to have the same level of talent and all teams will reach the same minimum goals. If no child gets ahead, then no child gets left behind.
If parents do not like this new law, they are encouraged to vote for vouchers and support private schools that can screen out the non-athletes and prevent their children from having to go to school with bad football players.

Cris,
Ketler, a tight end in high school, goes in as a fullback in our Zulu formation, which is short yardage and goal line.  He did this last year as well, but we hardly ever had to use it.
There's nothing like being a wildcat.  Some say they understand, but until you've lived it, you have no idea.

WC11,

Thanks for the site. It's great! We've watched some of those clips several times. What memories! We look forward to each new clip.

That's an impressive list of coaches, too.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Everyone have a safe Memorial day weekend!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Just for the record...somebody was talking about Cruickshank being in Spain for the football season.  That's incorrect!  He was in Spain this semester, he got back into town this week.  He'll be alive and well come the first day of practice...

Happy Memorial Day All,

Let's remember to express our gratitude, respect and reverence for those who have fallen in defending our freedom.

On a lighter note here's a Brett Elliott quote off the Charger site.  Check out the 8th paragraph.

Rookie free agents compete for roster spots

You really see the uphill battle a rookie free agent faces in the NFL.  It almost makes you think you'd have a better chance at winning the lottery.  If Elliott can surmount these odds what a great NFL success story he would be.

This will be a true test of his character and ability.  He leaves an arena where he was god, having acomplished records that may never be surpassed only to enter another where he is the ultimate underdog.  Let's all hope he can defy all those odds and rise above it all.

It's one thing to be a star where you are expected to do well but to succeed in an arena where the odds say you will fail, adds a whole new dimension to the true measure and depth of your character and your talent.

Good words Cam Cat......

And also thanks for the piece from the Chargers site.  Regulars here want none of it, but Brett Elliott has a hill to climb to make the practice roster, let alone all the "I look forward to seeing Brett play on Sundays" posts a few weeks ago.

Bluebombers.com has an interesting poll.....they ask who is the most impressive receiver in training camp....be sure to hustle on over and vote for Casey Allen, even though most of us are a few miles away from Winnipeg.

And in the spirit of this board, it might just make a difference in Casey making the team.  It's well known that coaches consult fan polls, especially the scientific internet polls, in making personnel decisions.   Get to work!!    <snickering loudly>

Thanks Beancounter. I see Casey is far behind some other receivers so this is urgent if we wish to make a difference.  Cast your Casey Vote Here

Linfield Video Of The Week!!!

[/size]
***next week: TBD***

***Former 'Cat, Dan Kielty produced many great Linfield highlight tapes during the 90's but his best work might have been the opening of the 1992 season highlight tape.  The 1992 Wildcat team put together one of the greatest seasons ever for a Wildcat team that culminated in a NAIA title game appearance where the 'Cats fell to Findley, Oh.

I could do the research but I'd rather know it from those who lived it.

What was the final Findlay score?

Where did we practice on carpet before going to the final?

Was our biggest problem the talent they had? Speed? Size? Tactics?

OK, I looked up the 13-26 score because it was easy and a fact.

Touchdown Tommy

Hey where are my old buddies GHC and Bluenote?  FB Season is 3 months away, look forward to the Cats visiting Cville again this December.  I trust the Longies will be in full force.

Dens,
That day was alittle foggy for me, :P but seems we had the lead at half or it was close. we ran alot of sweeps in those days, and it worked. Gary Mcgarvie was sure fun to watch run. 2nd half seems to me we change up some things.  Findley was able to get into the backfield and stop the pitch and pressured Shannon Sells all over the field.

Findley also had a beast of a running back who warmed up in the second half. He was also very vocal to the fans in the north end zone. Not much class, >:( but he was on the winning side of the score!

A side note.....Coach Joe Smith was a stud on that team!!

That brings up a question for the group.....How many coach's have won Championships as a player and a coach for the same College?
