Welcome, dawgs go deep.........

rockcat.......maybe now since a local boy, John Pearson is playing for Redlands they could answer the phone when Linfield calls. Would be nice for him to play in front of his home town once in his career. ;D

dgd... for your info the dawgs started ducking the Cats a few years ago, ??? didn't like the "L" everytime they played the the Wildcats! I believe in the...you have to play the best to become the best. Anyway, will see what happens. Seems both schools could use 1 more game!

Redlands needs to beat Whitworth before worrying about the Cats.

Welcome Dawgs.
If you were wondering why your boys don't like playing the cats anymore, feel free to check out http://www.geocities.com/catdomealumni/ (courtesy of wildcat11) for the explanation.

HOLD ON ONE SECOND THERE FELLAS.......in doing a little research it appears that Redlands is playing a pretty tough schedule with Whitworth and Trinity.....

not like Oxy who doesnt play anyone..........

D O.C.

Well...now you've left yourself open for the
"Have you seen the last couple of years of OXY scores?"

dgd,

It is fair to say that Redlands plays a solid schedule but the fact remains they have hid from Linfield since getting Catnipped a couple of years in a row.

As far Oxy...like Dens is saying, you've got to be careful when calling out another program.  Especially if it's who you're chasing.  Ask a Willamette fan about that.  They talk crap leading up to Willamette vs. Linfield and mysteriously disappear afterward.  We all know Oxy plays a cupcake schedule but you are setting yourself up for attack.

I think they relize the problem with their schedule, in their defense they are made years in advance and a program can change drastically in those years.....

I saw film on the incoming qb on scout.com and rivals.com, he knows my daughter....we all know what a good qb can do for a program, look at Collins at Oxy!

Good high school players usually take time to develop into good college players.  Collins and Elliott are abnormalities and both had experience against superior competition before transferring.  When I was at Linfield Tyler Matthews was an All American QB but it took him a redshirt year and a year as a backup before he even started a game.

I hope you're right about this kid.  Stick around here long enough and you'll figure out what perception of the SCIAC is.  Maybe a good run by a couple of schools could change that.  It would be fun to watch some good teams while I live in SCIAC land.

snoopdoggie,
No respect here, When I think of Redlands --Wait a minute, nobody thinks of Redlands !!!!!!!!!!!!!  They just don't show up.

I see that the long offseason layoff hasn't dulled your edge GHC!!  I like it...in mid-season form already!  That's a sign of good off-season preparation!!   :o :o

Wildcat 11:

Thanks for the post with the sideline hit.  I was in the video and remember it first hand.  My guy ran a short slant pattern and took it off the shoulder pad ... the ball bounces up into the air, Chiu picks it off... running for an obvious touchdown.... While this is going on, i'm jogging running down the sidelines about 20 yards behind Chiu... I see #66 JOE SCHMELZER (LINEBACKER) who was PISSED because our offense had been tearing him up all game.... he didn't even have his chin strap on... takes one step off the sideline... Chiu is looking toward the middle of the field and obviously doesn't see him coming.  Gets de-cleated.... when you watch the video, you see the first official get knocked down, and the second official that was right in position to make the call... get worried about his white hat blowing off his head, so he takes his eyes off the play to make sure his hat stays on ....  #66 got kicked out of school for that and the football program folded shortly thereafter.

That was one of only a few times that I saw Rutschman so mad he came out of the box ... you see the fans parting as he runs down the stairs...down on the field... nostrils flaring and throwing around obsenities like "GOSH DANGIT, Son uva BUCK, by and large"

It tested one of my favorite analogies of his " Gentleman, it's a lot like a watch, if you're not wound tight enough, you're not gonna run.... but if you're wound TOO TIGHT (insert RUTSCHMAN writing X's and O's on the chalkboard in the GRAF so furiously that the chalk is blowing apart) then the watch is gonna break.... you can't be wound too tight!"   :o

tuxguy... not likely a freshman will start... should see PT but I wouldn't expect a real difference maker... Hope the family connection doesn't take precedence over others.

I'm not too concerned about DBs either... some adjustments already moving a S to CB... and I'm not at all sure about the QB/DB transfer(Pendelton).  Needs to improve speed....

I think there will be a surprise or two on the defensive side... players that were not involved at L last year but will make a difference.

Might be more of a concern at RB ability to catch the ball.

Would one of you "Local Cats", who happen by the Catdome, please go over and turn on the Webcam!  It's been off since the NCAA said it couldn't be on the second game of the playoffs.

Since the season is getting close it would nice to be able to turn on the Webcam and start getting "in the mood" for the start of the season!!!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Welcome dgd 8)
It will be interesting to see your new QB in action.

BTW I've heard that California high schools are trying to set up a complete state playoff system that goes beyond the Sectional championship and ends in a state championship....Anyone know the progress on that?
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!
