Pirate Pride, I must say I haven't laughed out loud that hard after reading a post in a while. The "but the bullets he shot were intercepted" was too much. Good stuff. Welcome to the board.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

What a great start to my morning. Thanks Pirate. :D

Quote from: Pirate Pride on July 25, 2006, 02:34:49 AMthe 2 funniest/just plain crude comments I have ever seen on this board came from that season in which someone said that Scott tried to kill himself after the game but the bullets from the gun he shot were intercepted by a linfield db (something close to that) and when we missed the EP against PLU in overtime "Paul Alejo tried to hang himself last night, but missed the chair from underneath him when he tried to kick it"

Pirate.....That was me!  :) and I'm surprised you could remember those jabs. I figured that Whitworth would have some more voices this year.  Welcome aboard.

I really understand what you're saying about Linfield's WR corp the past two seasons but I think the crew we have this year will still be the best in the NWC...hands down.  The talent is there they just have to make their own way.

The first edit is often done by Jackson Vaughan I believe. But depending on the load, it can be passed on to various assistant coaches. I'm not sure how much wildcat11 edits.

The actual highlight tapes the players get and that are used for recruiting are made by the coaching staff.

The clips on Catdomealumni.com are a mix.  Some of the game clips are ripped right from highlight tapes, then many are ripped from highlight tapes and I put on some NFL Films music, and then there are the clips I edit and put together (Top Ten, Locey Tribute, Hazenberg, McGarvie, Sideline, etc.).  It just depends on what I'm working.   I'm just very thankful for the great people that have allowed me access and provided some great material for me to work from.

Props to Brandon Bennett, OL from Willamette, for making the D3Football preseason All-American second team.   :D    If numbers on the AA squad count, appears that the ASC has the most football talent nationally, and Willamette, Whitworth, and Linfield are equally the teams to beat in the NWC.   :)

Rivers:
Wondered when you were going to show up ?It's funny how you dissapear after the game   each year.   ::)

It's been a long time  and I see you are still drinking "MUDDY WATER " .   ;D

You won't have to wait until the end of the season this year your hopes will drop early .. 8)

And yes ,

"Williamette  STILL SUCKS IN ALL WAYS FOR ALWAYS"  :-* :P

"Willamette still sucks in all ways for always..."  You know if Pat had a track and field/cross country board Willamette would dominate the entire thing (especially if it was divided into regions).  Now all we need is a men's golf board and the Whitworth posters will follow.

Wildcat...I may agree that the linfield WR may be the best in the league, but that doesn't really mean anything when you are comparing them to the last couple years talent level.  I don't know when there will be another group of explosive WR like that in this league in all honesty.  I am sure those boys will put up good numbers, but can't see them coming close to what i've seen in the last couple years (which were record breaking).

The teaser from the Linfield preview said new quarterback, new coach, two new coordinators.
The text included the statement that: "The void left by All-Americans Brett Elliott, Casey Allen and Brandon Hazenberg can't be understated. Together, the trio helped the Wildcats lead Division III in scoring the past two seasons."  The conclusion then pointed out the first two games will be against DII Western Oregon and then Hardin Simmons in Abilene.  I don't know how good WO is this year, but the Cowboys are loaded according to the D3Football AA team selections, and the game is on their turf.  Will the Wildcat system overcome the probably unavoidable glitches from having a new QB, a new coach, and new coordinators?   Maybe it's a good thing the Bearcats play LC early in the season.   :)

Amazingly, four of these guys made Don Hansen's 2006 preseason All-American team. :)

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Gee River.....I was discussing the Linfield schedule recently with someone (who is involved with the Linfield football program and will remain nameless for purposes of this discussion) and we were talking about how tough those first two games for Linfield were going to be, before the schedule turned to the easy side with a bye and a home game against Willamette... :D

rockcat

Bean and River,

Maybe we should be more concerned with the Cats first team being rusty going into UPS week? :D

Cut City

I actually looked at the schedule for the first time and couldn't believe the shake up. I got used to having an extra long "Lute Week" and being up close and personal to witness Willamette being absolutely devastated by a crushing loss to the Cats in their of taking the conference championship outright as well as making the playoffs. There's something anti-climactic about finishing the regular season against L&C although the rest should be nice. The middle of the season could be interesting. There's the potential to have four tough games in consecutive weeks if the Loggers continue to improve, and 6 depending on which menlo team shows up.

Had to karmalize Pat for that Hansen zing.
Good one!

I was looking at the updated alumni Roster and couldn't help but to feel sorry for the Running backs on the JV team those LB's & Rovers are Animals, everyone of them can take the head off of any running back, Ouch!!! I wouldn't even want the ball!!! :D

Orca Jr.

I get the point you're makin.  But really #4, yes, you would want the ball.  JV running backs probably not so much, but we all know how you roll!!
There's nothing like being a wildcat.  Some say they understand, but until you've lived it, you have no idea.

Well, we here in St Louis are finally recovering from the killer storms- mostly. I am not sure that my neighbor, who still has a giant tree laying on top of his house, would agree though. Another thing Oregon has on STL- No power ruining storms, and if even if they happen, a night in Oregon w/out AC is a little different than Missouri but, I digress....

Was out in Oregon 2 weeks ago, and of course went to pay my respects to the dome. A bunch of kids were playing soccer- I hope that it had more to do with a camp and less to do with any new motivational drill delivered by Coach Smith. Saw the coach as he moved offices in the hhpa as well. My parents gave up 2 of their season tix for the season, and the girl in Polly's office said that the waiting list for tix is now only around 1000 people. Crazy.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
