I didn't even know that Linfield had a football team until about a month before my daughter started there. I had heard what a fine academic institution it was. While football is a very important part of the entire Linfield experience, it is just one part of it and a mighty fine one. I have been to more Linfield football games than my daughter has. What I have been impressed with is caring and nurturing of the faculty (a great theater dept.  ;D ) and truely awed by the devotion of the alumni to their alma mater. I realize hindsight is 20-20, but my wife has said that if she had it to do all over again, she would have gone to a small school like Linfield instead of San Jose State. You all are justly proud to be associated with such a fine institution.

'64,
Almost 5:00 and it's Tailgate warm up time! I Don't want to be out of shape when the longie train starts heading down I-5 in a few weeks.
Nope wasn't in my seat today! by the way, It was sunny all day, not quite sure why the camera makes it look cloudy. But this is Oregon and it will be cloudy soon enough.
I've enjoyed reading about every ones take on the Linfield experience. I grew up in this School, as a Professors son and then attending Class's myself. It's a special place, and I'm lucky enough to still Live here and still enjoy all Linfield has to offer.

Tuxguy,
If the webcam is still in the same location as I saw it last under the roof of the catcome....it's probably a contrast and iris problem....More than likely the camera is set on "auto iris" or "auto exposure"....these are factory settings.  The camera is seeing bright and dark contrasts in the same picture.  Obviously the bright part of the picture is anywhere the sun is shining....and the dark part of the picture is the surrounding roof of Memorial Hall, because it is in shadow.  So the camera sees the dark part of the picture and says to
itself..."I need more light" and automatically opens the iris to let in more light....BUT in doing so the sky becomes too bright or washed out giving you that cloudy look instead of that beautiful sky blue.  If the camera is an el-cheapo...and only operates in an automatic mode there's not much you can do and unless it is moved to view only scenes without heavy contrasts.  I assume that the webcam is unmanned and is therefore constantly on auto...in order to get a better picture with the camera operating in auto...one would need a much better camera....those camera's begin around 6-8,000 USD and sky rocket upwards.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I went to both. After graduating from Linfield I was ready for a bigger school for grad school and San Jose State fit the bill so I found the combination of the 2 a great expreience for me.  But, how much loyalty do I have to San Jose State, absolutely none.  BTW, their football team is consistently horrible.

CamCat,
My wife has no loyalty to SJSU also. You hit it right on about their football team. But back in the late '70s early '80s they were  pretty good. Had a good friend that played for Pacific (Stockton, CA) and another that played for SJSU in the mid '80s and every game between the two the score was like the Linfiled-UW Whitewater game. Although only half as exciting!!

Pineconefan and D-train,

No, not all Linfield presidents have been football fans. Oldtimers will remember one man in particular who not only disliked football, but several of the older professors as well. Some people wondered why he came to Linfield in the first place. He had an elitist attitude that didn't fit here, and he eventually left.

Linfield has long been known for its outstanding science program, also, with those graduates being sought after in the job market.

It is hard to imagine ANYONE from Linfield having an elitist attitude... ;)
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

86,

He came from the east coast with that attitude and being out here didn't change it. I presume he went back to where he came from. He was just not a good fit here, for the town or the college.

I knew you'd know, Tuxguy.
Wasn't he a piece of work? I think the town and college had a party when he left.
