In DI action, what happened to the Beavers tonight?  Or is Boise State that good this year (they have scored 94 points in two games....).  I thought OSU with the Linfield Coaching staff looked good in week 1 but they looked equallly bad after the 1rst quarter tonight......
Go Cats!

This board can get addictive, and captivating. I love Cat talk,  but where are the other NWC heads? Has this NWC board always been dominated by a Linfield support group?

After reading a previous post about the numbers that turned out for Wildcat football, Linfield, with a little creativity, could have formed its own JV football conference - 4 teams with 30 players each with each team playing six games.  I know that's impossible, but the youngsters came to the best football school anywhere to play and each deserve the opportunity to enhance their skills and get a reward now and then.

I know this board will be a lot of fun after I learn more of its functionality.

GO CATS

Welcome aboard ClassicCat. There are a couple of folks from PLU and Whitworth that are regulars. A couple from Willamette that show up the week before the Linfield game and then disappear again. Has anyone from L&C ever posted on these forums? ???

You guys won't believe what OLinemom sent! Brownies! And not just a few! Two boxes of them! They arrived at our house this afternoon for us to take to the tailgate. There are several different kinds, which I had to taste, just to be sure they were good enough for the rest of you, and they are fantastic!

She included a note which reads:

PHONE IT IN
CATS WILL WIN.

Thank you, Olinemom! You are amazing! We'll drink to you on Saturday!

Tuxguy, no connections for the media guide. I went over to Kelly Bird's office yesterday and bought a few copies.

Mrs. Coco

I'll be with you in spirit!!  I'll have my good luck BC power bracelet on one wrist and my good luck Linfield power bracelet on the other.  Go Cats!!  When we have our BC communion at Stone Station, I'll be thinking positive thoughts for the mighty Cats.  A fantastic night game.  Wish I could witness it.  Are you sure somebody couldn't turn on the Web cams?  Mrs. Coco and I plan to phone a time or two so I am not in the dark about the game.  If anyone sees John or Sean (#75) Horning please wish Sean and the other O-Liners good luck.  Wasn't that offensive film great?  Wildcat11 you do such a great job for those of us who live so far away!!  You and Gig Harbor, enjoy your pool--everybody should enjoy physics every once in a while!!

GET'ER DONE CATS!  IT'S TIME TO PARTY, CATSTYLE!!  RUGGED AND COMPLETELY DOMINANT!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Some of us non Cat fans just lurk.  I use the board and d3football.com to keep up on d3 since I have no coverage in the local press.

OOPS, I don't even know how to quote a previous message without embedding my own.

Cat Fanatic...you must not follow the NFL draft too closely regarding Hass.  He was a sixth round pick, hardly a "lock" to make it someplace in the NFL.   He doesn't have NFL speed and NFL separation, in my view.   He got cut by New Orleans, not New England or Cincinnati or some team that is loaded with receivers...the Saints have Horn out there and some trickery with Bush out of the backfield...but that is about it.

None the less, Hass was picked up for the Chicago practice roster.

Yes, thank you, I did know he was a 6th rounder. But by "lock" I wasn't necessarily meaning he'd be a first rounder, just that he seemed to be a lock to make A team, somewhere, not that I felt he was immediately headed for the Hall of Fame. "Lock" probably wasn't the best choice of words, so I can see the confusion.

I believe he was the nation's leading WR last year (or maybe second). That just usually indicates the kid will at least land a roster spot somewhere.

You might not have noticed but there have been plenty of players that had productive careers without blazing speed, who had good hands, and who knew how to find the gaps and knew how to react well to a QB under pressure. In my opinion, he had all those. He made some impressive catches the last couple of years. You're right about his speed, I wonder if he's ever thought of switching to TE if he could put on some wieght and muscle...?

As far as NO goes, you're hardly talking about a team that has a storied history of being able to successfully evaluate talent. But we'll see how they do with the new management.

It's getting close now.  I won't be getting any injury status here but I hope all are well. It is a shame about Whitewater Kleppe being injured. A worthy opponent. Not supposed to be too serious.

I'd like to remind everyone about WOU winning the flip last year and in a moral building move chose to kick to LINFIELD. That was a good one.

Hey, I actually LIKE it when we defer to the 2nd half. Let 'em try in the 1st half, we'll show 'em how it's done when it matters.

... I think you'll find a much improved pep band that will be working WITH the cheerleaders.

Now that's a first...  :P

Hope they have umbrellas. Where are they going to be located?

Yeah, the wife and I watched that one. Painful.

I haven't followed Boise that much, so I don't know if they're "that good" or not or if the Beavs--heady from their crushing of "powerhouse" Eastern Washington--just thought they could take a night off.

What I DO know is, man, those kids and that whole organization has a lot of desire. The coach wants them to be able to compete with anyone in D-I, they're very serious about their pursuit, and they're working their butts off to be one.  As for last night, they wanted that game way more than the Beavs did and they weren't going to let a 14-0 deficit stand in their way. The fans got down but those kids on the sidelines sure didn't give up.

Hope some of our 'Cats were watching that. Ya gotta want it.

I post every now and again too, although it's hard to get a word in edge-wise above all the Linfield chatter.  But I hope I can bring a sense of balance to the board.  Welcome to the board, and if you want to talk Logger footbal, I'd be glad to oblige.

MonroviaCat

I for one appreciate hearing hatchetman's logger reports.  The one problem with us Cat Fans being....uhm.....rather dominant on this board is we miss out on some of the insight on the competition.  Instead, a lot of the posters from other schools come on to talk a little trash and then melt away.  I like to hear substance about the other teams in the NWC!  Karma to hatchetman!

:)

Thanks for the karma, but I hope I'm not spewing out too much insight.  Having a hand on the heartbeat of the team is one thing, but dispensing scouting report material is another.  I pretty much just take what I know about the guys on the team, look at the stats, and try to report what happened in the game. But if my knowledge is appreciated, I'm glad I can be of service to NWC fans.

Now someone from the NWC needs to play a game out near KC, MO. I'm so unfamiliar with this area of the US, are there any teams nearby?

I live in St Louis. There are not a lot of d3 schools in your immediate vicinity, although you are near some really good NAIA schools. I have driven to Iowa, Minnesota to see games, all easily gotten to in a day. Wash U is in st. louis and they play some good games from time to time. I saw them play Mt union a few years ago.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.
