Welcome to all the newbies to the NWC board. If you can't make it to the game tomorrow night you can listen to it live here : http://secure.stretchinternet.com/demo/games.php?user=lin&o=cal_stamp&sd=1154415600

Just wanted to make sure you knew about the internet connection.

Wow! A new season, a night game, and the Pep Band! Hope I can get some sleep tonight!
GO 'CATS!

Thanks for the link!!  I'll be getting home from my game just as you all get started with tailgating (hopefully with a win).  I've got Mrs. Coco on speed dial in case I can't stand not hearing some of the excitement.  Now somebody needs to turn those web cams on as well!!!  Enjoy the game!!  I'm delighted that Amy has the pep band up and playing.  Wish I could be there in person, but my brownies will have to do.  Go O-Line!!!  Go Sean!!!  At the moment my one picture of the Linfield players is a great one taken by John Horning of the O-Line that Sean got all the O's to sign.  How great is that?  It's wonderful!!  Shout some for me.  It would be nice to have lots of points, but just as long as we have more points than WOU I' ll be happy.  We can't afford to look ahead until we see just how the team is going to work together this year.  I have faith that they will do a great job!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

In reply to ClassicCat  "However, we all know it's a team effort to get the best to Linfield. Everybody on campus in some way or form, recruits. We, the alumni recruit. The commonality - we "love" our school. As you grow olders, you'll know what I mean.

To the Guru as downtown48 called him  -  I've noticed that there is "a little" sharpness to your comments about the NWC, i.e. Linfield in particular (see other various post this morning).
Pat Coleman  9/3/06 " Most others don't settle for nine games. Most play 10." His reply to Linfield  Beancounter  "....I hope this is the last game Linfield plays against WOU....  let's all hope that this is it and that Linfield can be like most others and play a full nine game d3 As difficult as it is to get other d3 colleges to schedule a game with us (whether it 's because of the high travel expenses,  or our reputation – a loss could mean the difference between making the playoffs or not, or for whatever other reason, it seems to be just as difficult to get you or any other representative from d3football.com to come way out west  & cover a NWC game in person.
Pat Coleman 9/9/06 "Dunno -- last time we saw the Linfield defense it got peppered pretty badly
Until you see the Wildcats up close & personal "we" haven't seen what Linfield's got.  Those of us who have seen "it" can 'brag up' as you say because we know what we see.  One thing I know for sure is, you missed the best football game played in 2005 (and if I may brag up) - ever. To bad you missed it.

Welcome to "posting" on the board....Applause, Applause, Applause!
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Pat Coleman

You could probably pull out two of my posts at random over the course of a week and make them say anything you want. Talk about selective quoting.

WELCOME WILDKIT58 :  APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!!!     plus "K"  to you from the "KING OF SMITE"   GO CATS ;D

The only game the Guru has seen the Cat play in person was the "OFF  O DAY"  in the Stagg bowl 2004.   He has NEVER been to the CATDOME since the catS joined the NCAA.   I think it is something about crossing the Mississippi AND "GOING WEST YOUNG MAN" ?   ;)

Pat, to be fair, there were plenty of UWW fans bragging up their D last year.  I've reviewed the posts and noted in particular that some UWW fans were predicting that Elliott would be shut down and/or that Linfield was gonna be held to 14 or 17 points.  Nonetheless, our D did get peppered in that game...but it's a new year, with a new (former D-Coordinator) head coach and I'm hopeful for his expertise to show in the team this year!
Go Cats!

pls excuse the red print.  Someday (soon i hope) i'll learn how to reply to a quote correctly.

In the upper right-hand corner of the person's posting, there is a button that says "quote". Click it, and it will bring you to the regular posting page but this time, whatever the person said will be already filled in for you, and end with a "
".

Type your message at the bottom, after the "
". If the original message was long, you can edit out the irrelevant portions--just make sure you don't delete anything enclosed in square brackets  or the brackets themselves.

Hope that helps and welcome to the board.

Shakin' the hornet's nest!
PC sends out a teaser and 'Cats hiss. Football season is here!

OK, since I read 'I'm just being honest' here this week...
We owe a bow to all that d3football does. It is not here FOR us. We are only a part of it.

PC is likely so full of LINFIELD that we could actually have a dome, run the table, finally get Mount Union at home in the semis, fly the family out from Connecticut, put 'em up in a bed & breakfast in Dundee, drive to church on Sunday, play well, win another Stagg and there would be something to keep this marriage sizzlin'.

It is my opinion d3 played a great chess game last year in covering every team figuring LINFIELD would go far and HAVE to cover them down to a few teams, probably saying "Yes!" when UWW outlasted in Berkowitz's favorite game. That way the defending champs and number one ranked team was covered a minimal amount with a nice picture thrown in here or there.

Maybe the Team of the Week is only SID's nominations but something is rotten in Virginia when the first LINFIELD player on the Team is week 8 and it is none than the Gagliardi eventual winner and previous year Division III MVP.
Team of the Weak.

Besides 'Cats having sharp claws there was that first year (and not quit yet) "Hey! Yoohoo! Over here! Over the mountains! Stand up! Look at us! HEY!" that is quite grating to anyone.

It's just another football season and if we take our lumps then so be it. It will be the most important football season to the guys playing so we once again will be behind our team in many different ways.

" 'Off O Day' in 2004 Stagg"... hmm could UMHB have had something to do with that off day?

UMHB had nothing to do with it, the fact that the Cats TCB on an off day shows how strong that club was.  But on to todays business.

Cats are a +30 all day long

See yall later at the tailgate action

I sleep just fine at night.  In fact I got extra rest last night so I would have strength to wear one of those Championship rings at the tailgate today.  Something UMHB doesnt have to worry about
