SOU beats Menlo 16-14.....Menlo went ahead 14-9 with 42 seconds remaining.  SOU runs back the kickoff for a TD and wins the game!

Trying their website but it's frozen somehow right now.

Found G.A.'s OUCH! victor 37-7.

0-2 for the Willy's.

Wildcat'64

Double Ouch ...
GA was 3-7 last year overall and 3-5 in the MIAC getting clobbered by St. Johns and Concordia.  I wondered if they have improved that much or is WU just not very good this year?

I'm gonna guess that the Willamette isn't that good this year (at least not yet).  Reports from last week was that they were a mess.

D3 Scoreboard tells me Cal Lutheran beat the Lutes 17-14. That leaves only L&C an the Cats to improve the league average. GO CATS!

Score was 16 - 13. Menlo missed their first PAT. I was there, just got home. Intersting tid bit for you all. Menlo hasn't given up an offensive TD in 2 games and SOU hasn't scored an offensive TD in 2 games. Both teams are 1 - 1. SOU's points today are the kick return mentioned, a punt return for TD and a safety. Menlo has scored 2 TDs in each game. 3 passing and 1 rushing.

LET'S GO CATS!!!!!

Forgot about the Rats. Sorry Spokane.

Update on Logger game:

Even though La Verne threw the ball over 60% of the time, UPS still wins 28-21.

According to sources, the game was comparable to their game with Whittier, where they held a 14 point lead with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter, when a TD was given up.  So, the score is a bit misleading.

Lee had over 100 yards again, and this was with a sore ankle from last game.

The defense gave up less than 100 yards rushing, and finished the game with 3 interceptions and 2-3 sacks.  The experienced D-line is obviously causing problems for opposing teams.

The most astounding part of the game, was that UPS had 100+ passing yards on the game.  Looks like QB Kavin Williams is ready to step up and lead the Loggers to a great season.

I'll edit or add when the official statistics are released.

Chop'em down, Loggers!

PS - The Willamette game surprises me.  Any good word on the Pi-rats?

Nice Catch ClassicCat!  Rats game could be interesting and might say a lot about the NWC this year (since Whitworth has been the most competitive with Cats in recent years).

Nm....Whitworth game isn't until 10.... my mistake.

Hey Hatchetman,

Stats are up on the logger stat page.  Looks like the loggers pulled it out in the 4th quarter

Getting ready for the multimedia football experience with Texas-OSU on the TV and the Cats on the Computer!!!!  Might even flip to watch some TV games to really get my football juices flowing....:)

Did a little more looking at the UPS stats:  UPS ran the ball well again and threw it when they needed to (2 passing TDs).  On the otherhand, their D came up with 3 picks which was likely the big difference in the game.  ULV threw the ball quite well (over 300 yds passing between 2 QBs) but did not run well and of course threw the 3 INTs.  UPS is gonna have to establish a bigger passing game if they want to compete with some of the NWC competitors I think.  Good to see them off to a good start though!

Hold the fort.
As I leave for the Whitworth-Redlands game I had a nice thought come to me-there were probably 50 secret agents watching  that WOU game last week. I trust the scheme that has been devised.   ;)
