Dens gets a time-out, eh?  Are you gonna let him back in time for the WildCats home coming Pat?  Or is he gone forever like our old friend....wasn't it AB?
Go Cats!

No, I was talking about lb92. I'm didn't think the taunting and attempting to incite a flame war was necessary. Was hoping to nip it in the bud.

Yes, it's still there -- because he posted it a third time after I deleted the first two. Now that you guys have responded to the third one, not much I can do about it. Cat's out of the bag.

ohhhhhhh....I saw it the first time but thought he may have thought better of it.  It's fun responding to guys that have zero room to talk really...we'll see him down the road hopefully...

It's okay with me if he's gone, since he apparently didn't take your hint.

DenS, on the other hand, has been very quiet, so he evidently did learn.

Quote from: RedandPurple on September 17, 2006, 11:44:08 AMWe had a few "hometown' calls go against us, but that's football.

I'm not sure how you can really say that.  There were a total of four penalties called the whole game--two for each team.

I was very favorably impressed with the Linfield players and coaches, both as athletes and for the way they conducted themselves on the field.  You guys have a first-class football program, and don't have anything to worry about once you get into NWC play.

Hey Josh...

I wasn't at the game but I think the reference may have been about the "do over" on the inadvertant whistle followed by a TD.  My webcast was terrible so I didn't really even hear the explanation?  What were the circumstances?

Yes that call went against HSU.  Our QB completed a short pass as he rolled out and the receiver was picking up some good yardage.  Brought boos from the Cowboys stands.

Josh Bowerman

I'm pretty sure Z is right--it was a third down call and HSU had gotten a first down.  After the replayed down, HSU failed to get a first down and had to punt--if it's the play I'm thinking of.

It was certainly not a call that really changed the course of the game, one way or the other.

Both are actually taking enforced time outs from the board of varying lengths.

It's funny how things get lost in translation...I thought it was a 3rd down, HSU didn't get the 1st down and would have had to punt.  But they replayed the down and scored a TD on that play! :-X

Josh Bowerman

downtown, you may actually be right.  Now that I think about it a little more, the call was in the 2nd quarter, as opposed to my thinking it had come in the first quarter--which would explain the scary confusion going on in my brain after getting in at 1 a.m. this morning and being awakened at four by my six-year-old who was scared of the thunderstorm that rolled through the Dallas area early this morning.

HSU had driven inside the Linfield 15, and would have had to settle for a FG.  I don't think it was the next play, but HSU did score a touchdown on the continuation of that drive.

Still, I think the plays that really had an affect on the game were the turnovers--by both teams--inside their opponents' Red Zone.

Yea, it seems like the defenses really stiffened and the offenses were hampered by the lack of field to work with when you get into the red zone...early season offense at it's best! ;)

Foss and others...thanks for your perspective on the 1st 2 losses/games. Hopefully the early losses will turn out to be charator builders as the season goes on.  However, the reason you want to win as many games as possible comes in to play if we happen to do well enough to make the playoffs. I forgot...do we get an auto bid this year in NWC? In that case it's just a matter of winning league which won't be easy with Whitworth improving and doing very well. But if we are still a B Pool team or Pool C, then the losses will/may effect our chances if there are other good pool B/C teams in the mix and we end up on the bubble. Not to mention any type of home field situation may look bleaker now.... (lower seeds usually play away?)

For someone who was at the game...can you give us an objective look at the QB/Offense situation? Do we "stay the course" as "W" would say? I haven't seen the stats but stats don't always show the whole picture. I understand we had 2 qbs play...I don't know the breakdown for time/plays. Just curious how each looked when they did play.
