I believe Wes was Coaching at Linfield in he late 70's when I was in School.
His wife taught at one of the grade schools for many years, nice lady! Nice Family! Great people!
I just wasn't sure if he was still at Linfield when Jay took over as Head Coach.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Catville Commissioner Elect

No doubt TEZ18 is correct along with TuxGuy.  Can't beat a Deluxe Double and fries (except maybe with O rings instead).  The beer is cold and the company normally pretty good.  Seconds go the Amity Cafe for burgers.  Alfs is OK, Calamity Janes runs a close 99th in my opinion.

None are as good as the Cocos Meatballs and Tuxguys Teriyaki sticks though.  Wash a couple of those down with GHC high octane Longies and you will forget all about burgers.

Though not in McMinnville the best burgers in Yamhill County are at Calamity Janes.  It's been awhile but I think it's called the Tijuana Temptation...just throwin' that out there.

In town the Deluxe definitely has far better burgers than Alf's, not even a competition.  On top of that the monkey kinda scares me. ???

Rock,

I have to disagree.  Not a huge Calamity Janes fan....nothing touches the deluxe double w/ fries.  Add a cold pitcher of PBR and you have a meal fit for a townie!!!!

GHC,

No problems...I thought you would like that new avatar.

BTW...I was bored on the flight to Tx so a made a couple more....Here is another avatar if anyone wants it:  http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/catdomealumni/tktd.gif

I agree with you. Nothing like the double deluxe with fries. Alfs is ok for milk shakes.

Dens  you live in OC whats your take

I'm thinking Dens might still be in timeout-land.

You Linfield guys ever try Stanich's in John's Landing? They have a heartattack burger with fried egg, bacon, cheese, ham, and all that. They're right up there in my book.

Tuxguy

d-train,

Good burger,  have one for Dinner and eat the rest for lunch the next day.

+ Karma Topcat,
I wanted to hit the Deluxe on my last  trip but 11 was getting in shape for the alumni game so it has to wait until later.  He and I usually hit it there.  Kind of a FS tradition.  One of my best memories was the Deluxe after the big Willamette win when they set the Streak record.  Had both 99 and 11 with me that night, we couldnt buy a beer, it was like they owned the joint, maybe they did.

Salty,

You'll have to show me this Deluxe place after the Whitworth game. The PLU-Linfield result will determine who buys.

Bluenote,

No offense to your recommendations, but I cannot imagine any Texan eating Mexican food in Oregon.  That would be like going to Kansas for fresh seafood.   :o  Especially if Taco Bell makes the list of best Mexican restaurants.  After all, we invented Tex/Mex cuisine.   ;) ;D

Roocru,

You are 100% right.    I have lived in Oregon 40 years, but after growing up on GOOD Mexican food ins So. Calif., Oregon's version  is AWFUL.    So. Calif., Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and even Oklahoma has VERY good Mexican food, full of the right spices.

Oregon's version is bland, bland and more bland.   They have no clue.

However, I have now had 3 people recommend Muchas Gracias; so I will try it.

Did you happen to see that special on, I believe, FoxNews Sunday about the outrageous and ever-spiralling costs of college education? This one girl went to Scranton University, received no scholarships, and came out of school $170K in debt. Over the life of her loan, with the interest, she'll end up paying close to $350,000.

And that's not for a doctor or a lawyer. She's going to be a special ed teacher.
Wouldn't you think that somewhere along maybe she'd want to take a bonehead math course to figure out that going $350,000 in debt to become a special ed teacher Makes No Sense?

Most students can no longer be teachers and those sort of low paying jobs because they can't afford to do them as they have the loans to pay back.  They have to have a job that pays much more to be able to repay such loans.  It's a pity.
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

MUCHAS! MUCHAS! MUCHAS! MUCHAS! MUCHAS!!!!!!!!!! :P

Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner when I'm in for a game!

Deluxe is the real deal also!!  Great Burgers!!!!!

Anybody had breakfast at John's in Dundee since it moved accross the road?  I remember chicken fried steak that hung over the plate!

MonroviaCat

I know somebody mentioned El Primo earlier and I must say that during my Mac days I enjoyed going over there (I lived in the Linfield Mannor apartments next door for a year) for dinner.  It was nice enough to take a date and while the food does not compare to what we have down here in SoCal, I really enjoyed a dish called Pepe's Pollo.  I also liked chatting with Rick (the owner?) and his cousins for whom the restaraunt was apparently named....ah...memories.  But Muchas was great for more authentic, cheap and...don't plan on going anywhere in the morning Mexican food! :)
Go Cats!

Since we have a little WIAC/NWC action this weekend, I thought I would let you guys see how we roll here in Wisconsin.  :D

I had to chime in on this one. Here is Hermosa Beach(LA) aka "The Real Baywatch" this chick would be about a 4/10. To update this picture for where I live just replace the pants with some dental floss. I have been to Wisconsin before and the women I saw started at about 5'4" going about 180-200lbs. The women must love the cheese and beer just as much as the men.

I saw a mom at a Amity vs Dayton game a few years back who was wearing the same thing. :o

I recommend ordering the #40 (The Mazatlan) from Mazatlan Mex Restaurant in Mac.  Pretty good steak and enchilada combo.  Overall Mac's mexican food is weak.  The best place around IMO is Lago De Chapala in Newberg.  Don't be alarmed that De Chapala is next to a Napa Auto Parts...the eats are excellent.

I haven't had one of the giant hamburgers at John's in Dundee since they moved across the road, but the breakfasts are as good as before.

Muchas doesn't have pinots, in case someone was confused.

Thanks WC11. I was trying to remember the name of the place in Newberg. Went there with a friend last December after the Whitwater game. I think El Primo is kind of bland. I guess I'm spoiled by the Mexican food here in CA. FWIW, I enjoy Calamity Janes. I've eaten at the one in Dundee and the original in Sandy.
