Willamette drives down and kicks FG...........to lead 41-35............Wu-cats just stopped the Qaks at their own 26 yard line .....1st and 10 Bearcats with 2 minutes deep in Oaks territory!

MonroviaCat

just noted on the score board that UPS is up 21-0 vs. Claremont at start of 4th Quarter!

Wu-cats intercept pass on last possession............to win first of the year!!!!

Good for the BearCats!  Will make next weeks game more interesting for Bear and Wild Cat fans alike.  Puts more pressure on the Wild-ones though.

Nice work Whitworth and Willamette also. Well, most teams have played 3-4 games and we're sitting here idle at 0-2.  :'(  I'm wondering if Linfield will have it together after being beaten twice and then having 2 weeks off? Are they working hard or loafing? What have they come up with on offense? Will we finally see some of the old Linfield defense back on the field with those tackles for losses and bone crushing stops?....it will be interesting to find out. I think we're the underdog next week, Willamette has 3 games under their belt and a win. We're 0-2 and sitting around.

I don't think we're the underdog...Willamette, got rolled by 42 by WOU and we played with the #6 team in the country for 4 quarters...Linfield better smash Willamette...

I still don't think the WildCats will be considered UnderDogs next week.  However, we'll learn a lot about the team next week. So far we've played two opponents that played much better than we did and yet did not totally stomp us.  Next week, we play a team that up until today was a complete train-wreck.  If the Cats come out and look like crud next week, then we'll need to be worrying.  If they come out and put the stomp on the Bearcats then I will feel very optomistic.  And YES, I'm sure the Cats are working very hard.  Last time I checked, the Linfield Football Teams were not "loafers".
Go Cats!

Besides, we'll have had 2 weeks to prepare for the Bear Kitties.  My early prediction, the Cat's suprise everybody by coming out in the Wishbone Offense and scoring 35 points all through rushing the ball!  :) LOL!!!!

Sorry to be the crumudgeon fellows but I think we are going to in for a tough game against Willamette. They are getting seasoned and have more experience now. They'll be playing their 4th game when we meet next week (that brings me to another bone to pick with Linfield and their schedule...get 10 games!!!, this isn't Pop Warner League...and don't schedule the 2 hardest games in the 1st 2 games?) In the first game Western ran all over us. They controlled both lines of scrimage, had better running, passing, blocking, tackling, receiving, qb paly and a better game plan (kept us off balance and executed). In the second game we played hard but couldn't score points. The score was 21-6. We basically got our butts kicked again.... it wasn't 14-13 in 2 overtimes. I'm not used to this. We usually kick other peoples butts even on a building year. I'm getting all worked up...... ???

Mudball, I get your frustration but I must say your level of negativity is so two weeks ago.  Seriously though, it sucks that the Cats are 0-2 but as you pointed out they played their hardest 2 games right out of the gates.  In the past, we've had very little competition until play-off time (and sometimes not even till 1/2 way into the playoffs).  At least this year we've been thrown in the fire, and yes, we've been burned but we'll come out of this a lot stronger for it.  Check back next week and we'll see if the Cats had a tough game.  I think we'll be happy at least with the end result :)

I would assume the Linfield players are loafing.

OK, I was joking. Not to pile on, but there is no way that Linfield would be a 'dawg to wu next week. MB- do you know anything about NWC football? The 'cats would be installed as at least a 4.5 pt favorite next week, but probably by more. No offense to Oak fans, but because wu barely beat a terrible Menlo team (while giving up 35 pts) that makes then a prohibitive fav. at the dome? I think you need to smoke more. Or less. I am not sure of your tolerance.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

According to the D3 Scoreboard, the final is Colorado College 46 - Lewis & Clark 3.
