coco,

Too funny, send Eve out for some........scores!  :D I think I'll try to count how many times they do that next game. ...........Sorry Dean Hansen.  ;) ;)

I wonder, are they linked up to the net? I think we need to give Eve the D3 address.

I thought It was a nice touch by UPS to put the D&D show right in the middle of the Band?  :o    I hope those guys can still hear today!   :)

Foss,
He was..............
"Scharer Beauty" Yesterday!  ;D

                                                         BELIEVE
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Foss

Tux,

Your nickname for him has definately been sticking. That's a great name for 'Cat fans. Hopefully for the opposition he will become Trevor "The Terror" Scharer.  ;)

A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I know somebody has to have told these radio guys that people can check out ESPN all day for the next 24 hours and hear these scores...Same thing every week???

I also love how Dave thought maybe CA would catch a bunch of these passes. So stupid....Yankess announcer "I bet Babe Ruth would have hit that out."

We weren't able to make it up to Tacoma yesterday, but listened to the D&D show. They still send Eve out for scores every few minutes, but never any D3 updates.

This continues to amaze me. A friend of mine listening to the game said they even mixed in a few baseball scores. Nothing about Whitworth/PLU or even a brief mention of the Mt. Union/Ohio Northern (#1 vs. #10) score. Hey, since it may be something of interest to 'Cat fans, how about a game update on the team who defeated the 'Cats earlier this season (Hardin-Simmons), especially when they are playing a highly ranked team? Nah, but everyone is going to surely know about Eastern Connecticut vs. Central Florida and whether Derek Jeter's jockstrap is on right or not. Come on.

Yea, I just don't get it.  Some Pac-10, surely Ducks/Beavs for obvious reasons, but I think even Top 25 D1 is a stretch.  The damn highlights will be looped on ESPN for the next two days...and surely nobody cares about Delaware vs. Bowling Green.  Talk about the game...when they stick to that, they are very good.

I think the Linfield athletics program could invest in a WiFi lap top for D&D so they can have more current updates during the game.  Though, I was shocked (as my post stated) that at one point, they actually had an up to date update of the Yankees game.  The rest of the day, of course, they were behind by at leat 30 minutes.  Maybe we could get D or D to carry a cell phone and we could just txt message them updates.....any takers?

Though, the best of the year from D&D this year was when OldCatProf was feeding them updates (in Texas) from our messages here.  AT one point, I noted that Lewis and Clark managed to score 20 points but lost 38-20 (or something like that) so Dave get's on the broadcast and says, "Lewis and Clark loses today but scores 20 points.......I don't know who they played but they scored 20 points....." classic!

Game article from the Tacoma News Tribune:UPS not half bad, but it's not enough

Favortie quote from Coach Phil Willenbrock: "Well, that's baloney. We don't want to hang with them for a half, we want to win the game. There are absolutely no satisfied players or coaches because we played with them for a half – that's the last thing we're thinking because we had the opportunity to beat that team."

What's baloney was the last part of that quote:  UPS had zero chance to beat Linfield because they were down 18 before Linfield hit that last TD and the Loggers offense was being shut down in the second half like TDT's electricity at his shanty.

UPS quarterback played a nice game but he wasn't going to beat Linfield by himself with Rory Lee on ice..again.  UPS is a better program from when Willenbrock first came to Tacoma but every year is the same talk about how much they've improved but they still keep having losing records in conference play and are in danger of doing that again this year.

I read that this morning too...classic.  I didn't get the "closer-than-it-looked" comment in the Linfield write up either.  I guess nowadays three scores in the third quarter is "close." ::)

You hit the nail on the head- the scores they give are about an hour old. They reference 2nd quarter scores of games that are already over.

11- You are also correct. The LOG talk all of this big stuff, but then they get trounced like always. Oh well.

Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Menlo over Lewis and Clark by 10?  And it was close pretty much all game.  It did sound like Menlo came out flat but only a 10 point victory surprises me a little.  Is Menlo that bad?  Is LC turning it around?  Maybe a little of both?  Anyone else on this board hear about this game other than what was posted on LC's website?  Oh well, the rats will get a little tune-up allowing the O-line to gel a little before the tougher conference games.  Injured RB Chris Ahsing should get a few carries in his comeback this week, and the backups will gladly take their PT as Whitworth stays undefeated.

MonroviaCat

I think L&C is improving every week especially offensively.  They have put together a pretty strong passing attack but have had problems with INTs and a lack of a running game.  Rats should be able to shut them down with their strong D and good coverage backs.  Look for the Rats to have several picks in this one!

Having watched the first 4 Menlo games, they are not  a bad team, although they have have given up quite a few points in the last two games. In fact, as their points scored has gone up, so has their points given up. It also seems that the Oaks don't travel well. Nothing like home cooking. One last point, I mentioned weeks ago that Menlo's weakness is pass D and it looks like L&C passed quite a bit. The PLU-Menlo game should be interesting.

Whitworth fans, good win over the Lutes this week  :(.  From the little bit I heard on the internet and looking at the stats and game write up looks like the Pirates dominated the game but just couldn't put up the points.

Cat fans, I gotta think the logger coach is telling himself that if they just hadn't given up those KO returns for TD's they'd coulda won the game.  The reality is that Linfield was and did move the ball so those drives could just as well have ended in scores.  I think he's deluding himself if he thinks they could have beat you yesterday.
I'm really surprised at the SOU score yesterday.  Last night at our state high school quaterfinal game I was talking to a recent SOU grad and I commented that they were struggling and he said his friends still in school said the Raiders were not good at all this year.
