Tux...Looks like a Johnnie vs Linfield game in Collegeville is a real possibility.  Of course Whitworth could be heading east.  Those were impressive wins the Pirates had in the pre season.  Shouldn't Linfield and Whitworth win-out up to the 11/04 showdown?

Well, the win over Asuza is looking a little less impressive. But the question is: why are you trying to jinx playoff scenarios already? Didn't you go on and on about a SJU-Linfield rematch last year? And what good did that do?

DT..You all know how good Whitewater is.   Azuza Pacific played them tough
earlier this year and WW Stout is no slouch.  I think many would agree that those were quality wins for Whitworth.  I did hope for a Johnnie vs Linfield match up last year.  We came up one win short.  Those Warhawks surprised many.  All I am saying now is that, with the Cats two losses, they likely will be on the road should they win the rest of their games and that Collegeville could be one of their destinations.  In yesterday's post I was just trying to confirm that Linfield and Whitworth would be pretty heavy favorites in their games leading up to November 4.

Fine. Yes, there is a decent chance that the Nov. 4th game in McMinnville will be for the NWC title. But both teams play tough games before then and the teams and their fans would prefer to take things one week at a time. Linfield has a rivalry game and Whitworth has to stop a Willamette team that has tripped them up the past several years.

And, sure, if the 'Cats are fortunate enough to make the playoffs they'll probably be on the road by the second round if not the first. Who knows what they'll do with the teams this far west. But can we save that kind of talk until at least Nov. 5th? Thanks.

Gig Harbor Cat

The reality is that this is the 3rd round of the playoffs for the Cats of 06--One at a time BABY, one at a time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True enough. Linfield is out for sure if they lose another game. Whitworth might be able to suffer a loss and still sneak in...but that would put them on the road for sure. Each remaining game is big for both squads.

KennethK,

I'm giving a big DITTO to D-train's posts. You'll need to take your thousand questions to some other board if you want to stir up playoff talk.
Like he said, we do it one game at a time in the NWC, and leave the rest of it until the season is over.

Where did Hatchetman go?  I know his team has taken a turn in the wrong direction the last two weeks but it was nice to have his insight and non-catified views....oh well, maybe rivers will bring him back....oh wait........:)

I've been super busy the last few weeks. I've gotten some new projects started outside of the realm of football (working on a new novel) and its been taking up my time. Just got back from Phoenix on Wed.  That along with the two second half disasters (19 points in the 4th!?) has taken the wind out of my sails.

However....

I expect a win at WU. The Loggers have played them close for 3+ years, and I expect to finally take one away from the Bearcats.

Time for the defense to step up, and the offense to get things going in the second half.

My prediction: UPS 35 WU 21 with Kavin Williams leading the show with 250+ total yards for the second weekend in a row.

Hatchet,

Have a great title for your novel:

"Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades: the 2006 UPS Logger Football story"

..only joking....good luck and keep us up to date on the writing.  What's the subject matter?

MonroviaCat

the UPS 35 WU 21 prediction I made must be right :)  Hatchetman is the 2nd guy to give the same prection.  Then again, I, like Pat had the Dodgers winning it in 5.... :P
Go Cats!

*chuckles*

So far the UPS 2006 story. Anyway, its fantasy-fiction....Lord of the Rings type stuff.

And yeah, I liked that prediction Monrovia. I figure if I agree with a Cat, maybe they'll sprinkle some of that late game point-scoring charm on my team. :)

MonroviaCat,

As a Dodgers fan, I believe they went for show and not place, why else would they have 2 guys thrown out at home, with 0 outs?   :o   It's in the playoff History books now!

Sheeeesh!!  :-[

See everyone tomorrow afternoon at the tailgate!!  ;D

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

That was Gordon, not me. Definitely worth reading the names at the top of blog posts.
