Gig Harbor Cat

After watching DaBears-Arizona game last night, if you are not in the "One at a Time" Frame of mind the  you need to check yourself.

Feeling flush after going 4 for 4 last week and getting pretty close on some of the scores, I will try again.

UPS 35 - L&C 10:  The UPS ground game chews up yards and time against L&C's pourous run D.

Whitworth 42 - Menlo 10: The Pirates have had trouble in Atherton in the past, but Joel Clark has a field day against a poor pass D.

Linfield 28 - PLU 21: In easily the best game of the day, the Cats prevail as the running game comes alive in a tight battle with a confident looking and resurgent Lute team.

Snapper45

Linfield has always been around the top of the NWC in penalites.  I think it has a lot to do with our defensive philosophy....fly around and hit someone.  You've got to be willing to have a few late hits and ruffing calls in order to strike fear in opposing offenses.  As for this weekends game...I say it'll be close but not too close.

Cats - 36
Flutes - 21

That's well-deserved recognition for Masters.

Hey, Topcat, is Doris Sybouts the mother or wife of Tom Sybouts, the kicker we had several years ago? That guy was really enthusiastic. He'd jump up and down after every kick he made.

Saxon 73, welcome to the NWC board, and Julian has our continuing good wishes. Please keep us posted on his progress.

It's pretty quiet for the start of Lute Week.

Coco,  You bet she is, one in the same.  If you could see her and her enthusiasm over Cat Football it would be easy to see where Tom got his energy and excitement.  He comes to a couple of games a year and sits up next to us.  He has mellowed down until he gets on the athletic field

Topcat,

Glad to hear you have a couple of extra seats for the Lute game...If Tux doesn't take you up on the offer, I'll be glad to accept (especially since you're paying for the gas).  You've got about three days of solid driving to pick me and my bride up but we'll have our bags packed and ready to go.
You better leave tomorrow so we can get to Tacoma in time for the Friday night pre-game party.

p.s.  I'll buy the first round!

GO CATS-ONE GAME AT A TIME

WC64.  The only reason I am offering to buy the gas is to entice Tux to go to an away game.  His significant (very significant I might add) wants to go but you know Tux Guy must be that Linfield education

I was able to afford the gas since the city forclosed on some property on the hill that I bought at the Sheriff's sale and then turned around and sold for a good profit.  Seemed it belonged to an absentee owner and is used for tax purposes only.  I was going to talk to him about it but when he didn't show up at the Tailgate since he was making converstation across the parking lot I fugured waht the h__l I might as well turn a little profit.

What's the latest on Brett Elliot?  I haven't heard a thing since he was released from the Charger practice squad.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Just the usual: pain...suffering...turf burns...let down...the end of any playoff hope.

Just kidding. I expect the Lutes to play a spirited game and stay within 10. But I really don't have much to base that on. I haven't seen 'em play this year and have only heard a few things here and there. Sorry that I don't have much of a scouting report, but I probably wouldn't share much more anyway.

You guys have fun, and I'll see you in a few weeks.

My take on the PLU vs Linfield  game this weekend is this: It's going to be a battle of big plays. And who's ever defense comes up the biggest, most often, will win. I think the Lutes will get a few whoppers and the 'cats will get a few. The Lutes will run at least 7 trick plays involving shikanery and magic potions. I think Linfield will surprise some people with the running game this week and grind it out more with the run than some are expecting. We always seem to be able to run the ball well up at Sparks for some reason. We will also pin PLU deep in their own territory at least once and get a safety.

The Wildcats Team picture on the football home page is from 2005.  ::)

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

The Lutes first play from scrimmage against Menlo was a half back pass. It was incomplete.

They also tried the drop back for a pass and then drop the ball behind the QB play. That didn't work either. ;D

Is there anyone willing to exchange cell numbers and call or text me with a couple of updates from the Cats - Lutes game? I will not be next to my computer as I am going to scout out Joel Clark and the Whitworth Pirates against the Menlo Oaks.
