Catville Commissioner Elect

If anyone thinks that the Cats Offensive Line is not the real deal, just take a look at the D3 Team of the Week Offense.  The entire Oline got the nod.  Now I think that speaks for itself.

;D ;D ;D GREAT JOB O-LINE  ;D ;D ;D

OL Andrew O'Neil, Jake Lucey, John Kemper, James Holan, Rob McCullough, Linfield
On 74 plays, the Linfield offense only lost eight yards against Southern Oregon. The offensive line didn't allow a sack on 47 pass attempts which led to 443 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. On the ground, the Wildcats gained four yards a carry on 27 attempts.  Seven of the eight yards for a loss came in the second half

Topcat1,
Thanks for the heads up.

They deserve a lot of credit for the Cats success in resent games.  One game at a time says it all, better and better each week. They are starting to mesh as a unit and hitting their assignments. That's what it takes, all for one and one for all!

Nice to see the O-line receive some love from the d3.com team out here in the Island of the NWC.  :-*    ;D

                                              ONE GAME AT A TIME
                                                        BELIEVE
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I think they always give the nod to an entire O-line unit rather than each individual position.

Lifields O-line is one reason I don't think this game will be close.  The only reason PLU kept Whitworth from puttin 30+ points on the board is because they got some good (actually great) pressure on Clark.  Whitworth's O-line was banged up and the freshmen had some tough times picking up some of PLU's blitzes in the first half.  PLU attacks a lot on the defensive side of the ball and banks on getting to the QB before any reciever can beat their man coverage.  I don't think PLU will get to Linfield's QB meaning they're gonna have trouble stopping linfield's passing attack like they did against Whitworth.  Now who knows...the PLU coaches might see this and come up with a great gameplan to stop the linfield offense, but if they are aggressive and can't get to the QB its gonna be a long day for lute fans.

(509)Rat,

Don't take this wrong now........ But......
if the PLU coach's, or any teams coach's for that matter are looking to this board for help in coming up with a game plan, Heaven help them.
I think (hope)  they have better things to do.

Now If d-train or someone would give us the inside PLU injury report we would be happy to pass it along to the Cats coaching staff. Any takers?  ;)  ;)

Marc Weekly, Karl Lerum, and Anthony Hicks are unavailable for Saturday. Brandon Woods is also a 'doubtful' on the defensive line. Carlson might be a go at OLB.

The starting players receive the credit. In this case James Holan was not the stater at the guard position. Sean Horning was.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

d-train,
Carlson good to go? Did they up the amount of years one is eligible to play, like 7-8 years? Or is that a new PLU rule. I bet you would take an injured Marc Weekly if you could! He was a heck of a Qb. I'm Not sure he would want to step on the field after 13 or so years, what do you think? ;)
That was a good come back though, who's who of PLU Football! ;D

d,
Seems only fair I give you our injury list, Only one to report, out will be  all American and 2 time all Conference, DE R. Carlson. He  came out of the Alumni game a little dinged up so will be on the side lines in street clothes this week. He will definitely be missed!

Coco,
If all goes as planned I may be hanging around Sunriver this weekend myself....Look for a small small ballheaded frumpy guy with leather vest, beard and Linfield baseball cap.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Sorry by "see this" I didn't mean, see what I wrote in my post.  I meant if the coaches notice by watching film that linfields o-line is doing a great job of protecting the QB, and that they (PLU) are going to have a much harder time getting pressure against the wildcats than they did against whitworth.  Sorry if I confused you.

Hi R&P,  I totally agree and you should be proud.  I was quick to post the results of 'Team of the Week' and really did not do the research into the starters.  I am sure that we will be calling his name several more times.

See you at PLU.  To bad Mrs R&P had a previous committment as it would be great to see her also.

The people the school nominates get the credit. We're not going to second-guess them on who they nominated, though I know that that's second nature on this board.

Pat:
Not second guessing anyone. Linfield has a good o-line no matter who's in the line up and they earned the recognition.  I was just going by D3football.com guidelines for weekly nominations:
Offensive line
Team rushing yards:
Team rushing att:
Team year-long rushing average (for comparison purposes):
Sacks allowed:
QB pass+run attempts:
Please make sure you put all five starters' names in Name of Player field above.

topcat1:
See you at the game. Can't wait to get there. Mrs. R+P sure would like to be there also.

OK...now let me get this straight...this is the Linfield vs PLU game and some of you football menza Linfield fans aren't even going to the game? Sunriver?.....Get  a life. All I hear is all this love for the team and you guys can't even make the games? D-Train...you're not even going? Don't you guys know it's all about the game...this game, not some old crap you want to think about and look back on....all some of you morons talk about what you're going to drink and eat before and during the game. I bet you don't see half the game. Give me a break...I don't need ice tea to enjoy the game. Get off your ass and go to the game and support the team, don't just come on here and pose as a fan. If you are within 5 hours of the game you should be there unless you are dead.

(509)Rat

I'd personally take my wife to sunriver before I'd watch PLU get beat badly by Linfield...just like the last couple of years.  But maybe thats because I'm not a fan of either team.  Shoot I'd go to sunriver before I'd go watch Whitworth beat up on PLU...just like the last couple of years.
