Wow, I need to visit this board more often! :) Thanks, Coco!

Interesting rankings...I'd say Linfield is right where they should be...Good to see that the people doing the rankings aren't fooled by Oxy's record.  Bad to see they continue to be fooled by the Wisconsin schools, LaCrosse got blown out in their loss to WW.  Linfield should have a good chance to jump at least Oxy if they get it done against Whitworth in two weeks.  They should jump LaCrosse but I'm not holding my breath.

Wouldn't it be classic if they send undefeated Oxy to the Catdome to 2 loss Linfield...AGAIN... :D

Let's get by Menlo first though...

Personally I'd love to see the Cats vs Oxy matchup no matter where its held.  Obviously theres no place like home at the CATDOME but Oxy has one of the most underated offenses in the West.  The last two years they have been one of the few teams able to give the Cats a challenge during the playoffs.  Other than the obvious games with the Johnnies or Central, are there any playoff matchups that the Cat Nation wants to see?
Lop the head off!!!

The ultimate "redemption opportunity" would be to play Central first round, St. Johns/UW-Whitewater second round, SJU/WW third round, and then hope Hardin-Simmons wins the South Region to give us a second crack at them. Each of these teams would be huge challenges, but fun to take another swing at anyway.

For now we're just zeroing in on finishing the regular season strong so we can get in period. Sure, there's certain teams we'd like to play, but if we make it in by then I doubt we'll care too much about who our opponent is.

We are hoping we can avoid Crown College or Lewis and Clark, however.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

cawcdad,
Give your friend my number if he and friends want to meet up with us. You know at the Tailgate we will treat them with good old Wildcat Hospitality. What happens on the field will be a different type of Cat Hospitality. Oak chips might be flying.  ;D
Let me know!

Thanks Tuxguy. I told him you guys would welcome them at the tailgate with open arms. I game him your name amongst others and said to tell you all that I sent him. Have fun, toss one back for me and know I'll be listening on the net.

dutchfan1,
It's nice of you to stop by! Like I said, any friend of Mrs. coco, coco and bluenotes is a friend of mine. They are all great people!  :)
bluenote just stopped by with some interesting bits of Wildcat Football History, can't let the Wildcat out of the bag yet, maybe soon! Thanks bluenote! ;D

cawcdad,
Let me know if they need directions to the hospitality  ;)  tent.

WC11,
It's always something, they sure have been fun to watch, and I liked the back ground music.
Big Brother must be watching  :o   :o

                                             ONE GAME AT A TIME

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Yes! The Stagg Bowl against Mt. Union.

George Thompson

Spiritof86,

You are so right about the 1992 Cat passing game.    I believe if we had passed much more in the first half, we might have beaten Findlay.   They were so geared to stop our option running game---and they succeeded.

You can legitimately argue for many alignments among those seven teams.    The differences in many cases are slight.

Foss,

Yes, the playoffs this year could be very interesting matchups for the Wildcats.   I am excited about those possibilities.    I just wish we had more home games.    I think we will be lucky to have one home game.

Of course, we still have to win three more regular season games.    And, I , still worry about Joel Clark.    I remember how good he has been the last two years.

GO CATS! GO!

Cawcdad,
Nope, no hat.  But there was an error with that link for the menlo whitworth game pics so I never got a chance to see who you were talking about.

Well....Catdomealumni.com just suffered our first casualty in the Google acquisition of YouTube.

They just submarined the 2002 SOU clip off of YouTube because of I'm using an NFL Films clip as the soundtrack to the 2002 SOU clip.  I guess I'm violating copyright law.

Since many of Catdomealumni.com's clips use NFL Films music as our soundtrack it looks like it's time to find a new video file host for the site in the upcoming months.

YouTube....it was fun while it lasted.........

Tuxguy,

It's been too long since I've been out there.  If I don't get there pretty soon, it'll be the first time in 3 years I haven't made it!  Love McMinnville and the Linfield spirit.  The pregame tailgates are the best I've ever seen and/or attended!

GT:
the '86 team gets all a's but the 2004 team gets the number 1 spot? because they won on the road? if you keep that up you may be asked to set up the d3 playoffs.

the '92 team was not missing a passing attack, they needed a LB to stop that big ol' finlay FB. thats what they needed.

'cause everybody knows that offense wins games and defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS.

LND,

We sure did miss the Big Ole linebacker that you are speaking of in 92.  I remember everyone telling me when I came to LC that "the linebacker" was an all-american.  I went against him for the first time in doubles in a non-scrimmage atmosphere, and I thought to myself... All American??  And then the first game came along, and I saw exactly why he was a special player and an All-American.

Another good story about him was in the spring we did some weight lifting testing.  The Linebacker came in his board shorts, $5.00 Island thongs, and a visor on backwards.  He called Swann over to test on the bench press, had one 45lb on either side, threw it up once, and walked out.  Swann just shook his head, and he looked back with that smile and kept walking.  Classic.

Do you think it is possible that PLU put 70 pts on LC? Whitworth did and so did UPS.
