Tigersports - I thought the Oxy guys represented well.  They have a good team.  It sure would be nice to see them around these parts more often.

Hope you had a good visit to Spokane and Whitworth, despite the outcome.

tigersports,

I enjoyed the Game you called, You made it fun in many ways.
You show excitement no matter who has the ball, That's a good thing.
And the occasional Linfield slip made me feel like my team was still playing.  ;)
My first web-cast game, I enjoyed listening to your call.
Good job!  ;D

Congrats to Whitworth, Keep It up!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Tigersports,

I thoroughly enjoyed your "calling of the game" --- I don't think I've ever heard an announcer get so excited when EITHER team makes a good play --- nice job!  Of course I got especially excited when you kept announcing that Linfield was in the lead!

Your Tigers had a good season and we look forward to welcoming you to the Catdome once again --- how about a regular season game????
LEAVE NO DOUBT

Thanks, Tux and WC64.  Enjoyed it.  Love to have you guys down in the reg season.

Same here, Tigersports. I'd love to see regular games with SCIAC teams, and particularly enjoyed having OXY up here the past couple years.

Whitworth's head coach called yesterday's victory "magic" He is right. Oxy must have had feelings much like Linfield after our loss to UW-W last year. As has been said by most NWC posters, Whitworth will go as far in the playoffs as their defense will carry them. 509 and pinecone, after further assessment, in crunch time, Whitworth's D caused Collins fits because they made Oxy's o-line give it up. In my mind that's what is going to give the Johnnies big trouble too. Will they be able to withstand the Rats front 7 during crunch time?

This Whitworth team has withstood some adversity this year. First, UW Stout when they still had aspirations. Linfield and Oxy. In every case they found what it took to win. St. Johns is next.

I'm sure Spokane will welcome you with open arms. Bring your money, there are some great restaurants. Whitworth will remind you of Linfield, a beautiful campus with lots of trees. No Catdome, but the Pine Bowl can be rowdy in a Whitworth kind-of-way. The best part about your trip to the great Inland Northwest is your're going to have to explain to everybody what the heck are Johnnies, but most importantly the Rats believe and you're going to have to bring your "A" game if you expect to prevail.

Look for the guy with the whitworth football sweatshirt who looks like he's still in high school (appearently puberty forgot about me).

And you say the Johnnie fans sound like morons?   You had better check the color of your pot and kettle.

Again....Great Win Rats!  Way to play a full game!  Now it's time to move on and get ready for the next challenge.  I think St. Johns is a huge challenge and the Rats are going to need to play their best game of the year to win this one.  It look to me like the key to beating the Johnnies is to stop the run. In the game they lost and ones where they were held close they didn't move much on the ground.

That being said, St. Johns looks like it prefers to pass and has two go-to recieivers.  The bigger challenge for the Rats this week may be scoring on offense.  It looks like the Johnnies can be run on  but Clark is going to have to make them respect the passing game in order for the ground game to get going.  I was fairly confident calling the game for the Rats (though I knew it would be close) last week but this week.....no prediction.  Whomever plays the best game wins---if both teams play flawless.....well.....that never happens.  Go Rats!  Give the NWC a win against the Johnnies!

Ozjohn,
You don't need to pick on 509 just because he looks young. Some of us would like to look younger.

I wasn't picking on him just because he looks young.   :o

Onto serious stuff, the football...  I'll give a hint to the Ratters on how to know if you're in the game against the Johnnies.  If the boys are turning the ball over, you've got a chance.  Your D must win the game, as the Johnnie D will never give it away.  Importantly, your D must be forcing turnovers in the second half.  Gags is a master of the half time adjustment, so one half of parity does not a contest make.

Let me ask: what kind of razzle-dazzle will we see this weekend?  How do your fellas like to play?

Just got to reading the WW press release about the game...sounds like Nick Koller, WA state B-8 player of the year had a pretty sweet game, especially on that last drive. Congratulations you little squirt....you've come a long way since LaCrosse-Washtucna.

"B" school sports for the win!

Wow! The depth of your analysis is amazing!!   ;D

Let me guess....

1.  The team with the most points at the end of the game is called the "winner".
2.  The goal of the offense is to score points.
3.  The goal of the defense is to keep the other team from scoring!!

Also,  we are not morons, we are a very elite group of posters refered to as the
"Classless A$$hole CLub"......keep in mind though, as any Wildcat poster will attest to, 99% of what we say is banter.  IN person, we are all great guys   ::)

We look forward to being in Spokane!

Heather from the weather channel says soggy all week in the Northwest.  The Pine bowl photo on the Pirates website sure looks like grass.  How is the field holding up?
