Tux,

It's great when the kids are out of all schooling for good.

Yeah, I think we can get serious about the fund for Olinemom after the holidays when life settles down. It seems like enough guys will contribute that we can help her out.

Merry Christmas from us to everyone on the board, too.

tux and coco:
Once olinemom picks the game she will be coming to I'll be sending her my donation.
I don't need a reason to return to the CATDOME other than that it's there, but it sure would be nice to finally meet her face to face.

Tux:
Congrats on the graduation. My son will be returning home this Saturday. Seems like he's just not ready to leave Linfield yet. He wants a few more days to hang out with the guys.

Merry Christmas to all!

I don't know how serious you all are about paying for a player's mom to come to a game but if it is a current player, you might want to check with the Linfield compliance director to make sure it wouldn't be a violation.  I remember a story about some Georgia boosters wanting to pay for a Boise State player's dad to fly to the game (don't remember the whole story) but the NCAA said that it would be a violation, costing the Boise State player his eligibility.

Hardin-Siimons would be a natural choice, wouldn't it? That is, unless you liked my idea of a play-off game better.

RandP...your son's probably going to float home.
Man! I cannot imagine what it must be like to have the kids done with school, retired from the job, and sitting inside all day while the Alaskan Stream pours it on heavy.

Olinemom,

Now that SW is codesharing with ATA you can book SW fares out of National or Dulles and avoid most or all of the Beltway coming from your part of Va.
That would be fantastic.  I love Dulles.  It's easy to get to and you don't have to walk a zillion miles. Does anybody know when the Wildcats schedule for next year will be posted?  We are supposed to be getting our official calendar for next year any day now.  Before if you wanted to use SW you had to use Baltimore WAshington, which is OK.  I have flown to California with the BC baseball team twice out of BWI.  Coach got us round-trip tickets to Ontario (LOVE THAT SMALL AIRPORT!!!!) for 235$ I couldn't believe it.  What a deal.  I am definitely going to plan this! :) :) :)

I cannot believe all your generosity!!  I think NWFan needs to know that I have 2 kitties that haven't as yet bulked up enough to play football.  I am the Olinemom at my school where I teach and since I have joined in the d3football.com experience have come to really appreciate many other OLINES around the country, Linfield's being one of them.  I met many Linfield fans when Stone Station (a group of us from Bridgewater College) were tailgating at the Stagg Bowl for the 2004 game.  Since then our group has gone on to host both teams' fans at the National Championship in Salem and hope we continue to do that.  I do not have a son playing, but I have over 100 at BC who call me Mom.  I bake them 14 pans of brownies every Sunday during the season, a season this year that came to an end the same Saturday as Linfied's.  And it seems like the new season is years away!!  I have been known to send brownies to tailgates in the Northwest, to private tailgates in California, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and there are 2 or 3 more that I will need to send after the holidays.  Between now and Friday morning when I leave for the

  STAGG BOWL

I need to make about 40 pans of brownies:  Enough for both teams and for the humongous tailgate.  Llamaguy & Skoal are barbecuing 150 chicken halves.  It's going to be a happening.  So what is needed is for Linfield to get back to the Stagg Bowl ASAP.  It seems to be a purple thing the last 4 years, but I personally would love to see some burgundy and Vegas gold come there.  We haven't been there since 2001!!  Grades are done.  I'm heading for bed so I can bake tomorrow.   Oh, I forgot, our tickets are on the WW side on the 50 yard line row 2-3.  You will see burgundy and gold in the midst or all the purple and black.  I'll wave.  I'll be the one with the BC eagle on her left cheek.  I wish I knew how to include a picture in this post.  I have a neat picture of Kid and me at a tailgate.  It's on a CD but I am clueless as to how to put it on.  Any technical info would be helpful, but in small words an old lady can comprehend.  In the meantime  e-brownies to all.  They taste great, aren't filling, have no calories, can be in any flavor and never go stale!! ;D ;D ;D

Olinemom,

Nice interview on the Stagg Bowl Pre Game Show today.....you had the entire nation drooling for a brownie!!!

Happy Holidays to all the bros.

Coco:

Are you and Mrs. Coco doing OK?  Mrs. Warthog & I are both concerned.  It seems terrible weather in the northwest leads the news every night.  A couple days ago most of the information was about Portland.  As any Wartburg fan who has taken a trip to Linfield knows, that is getting too close.  I hope all is well.

Four years of getting knocked in the head (only one concussion) must have had minimal damage on Little Warthog.  Mrs. Warthog and I  attended his graduation at the U of Iowa yesterday.  I need to now call him Doctor Warthog

As usual I'm a little confused.  ::)

What are you trying to accomplish here?  Is there some kid who has a mom that can't afford to come watch him play or are you trying to repay some lady for years of brownies?   :-\

If we have a real need here, let me know where to send a check for the fund.

I had opportunities to enjoy Oregon/Linfield hospitality. It was a great place to visit. (even in 2003 when we met in Salem) .  Everyone should visit at least once and try to figure out what that goo is on the trees.

Don't be a sap, Warthog.  8)

That's what's on the trees.....right?

How about you guys win your conference again and come back for a playoff game....and that's the one onlinemom gets to go to?

D.O.C.

That seems like a good idea, but how about Wartburg and Linfield both win their conferences and this time you folks come to Iowa.  We don't have trees with gooey moss sap but we can show you plenty of corn.  I think a playoff game with Linfield would be a great way to celebrate the opening of the new athletic facilities.

RedlandPurple,
I thought the game was interesting.  Two very good teams gave a terrific effort.  It will be tough to bet against either one for next year.  Hopefully, Linfield will be in the mix next year.  We just never got it all together this year.  As we know, a good team finds a way to find the whole package.  It doesn't happen very often, but it is very interesting when it does happen.

Yep and the blocked punt td broke it wide open for the raiders. What an impressive 6+ minute drive in the 4th quarter to run out the clock. Overall a very good game.
