Re:  Josh Armstrong
Though this does not mention his committing to Linfield football it's a great story about his wrestling career and some fascinating insights into his background and character.

If indeed he is (or was) being recruited by the likes of: Division I athletic coaches - from Oregon, Oregon State, Hawaii, Washington, Colorado State, Nebraska, Arizona State, Central Florida, BrighamYoung , and Colorado who knows but what he might be the next Linfield running back of David Russell proportions.

Are you back in the frozen tundra or are you posting just after your afternoon surfing?

WC64,

I understand, why just the other day I cut myself and bled Cardinal & Purple.  8)
I guess I should have put a few $$$ signs in my post to clarify my meaning,  ;)
Well worth it! Thank you Mom and Dad!!!  ;D

Mrs. Tux had Surgery on her foot and the Dr. taped it up with Red and Purple bandages. You gotta love it. :D
He's a Linfield Alum!

Tux,
Did the rest of us ever learn who her surgeon was?

I second the Good Luck to Josh Armstrong tonight.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Cam Cat,  Still 'hanging out' here on the Islands for  a couple more weeks.  I am still hopeful of finding a young Hugh Yoshida or Rogers Ishizu 'hanging out' under a palm tree wanting to go to the  Mainland and show  off his football skills in the Catdome...they're here, we just  need to  get  them off the surf boards and onto the gridiron!

I can hardly wait to see the Bear Kitties, Lutes or Rats try to wrestle to the  ground Josh Armstrong as the 215 pound  class 6A finalist runs over the competition.  2007 could be a real exciting season with a strong running game to go  with the experienced passing attack.

WC64,
Surfs up!  ;)
I'm looking forward to watching Josh run in Purple as well.
He had a great year on the field and made it all the way to the finals of the State Wrestling Championships, but came up just short tonight. The 215lbs  class was full of studs, and everyone is vary proud of him and how far he has come.. He should do real well in the Discus this spring as well.

coco,
Jacquies Doctor is Dr. Dean McNabb MPD, , Linfield '90 or '92 I think, and the son=in-law of Jim Massey.( Some might remember that name. Jim knew how to get the ball in the endzone, 21 from '69-'71) ;D  ;D Nice young Man, and when I brought her home her bandages were Cardinal and Purple. You gotta love that.
Take care all, 5 1/2 months or so until practice starts.

I'm sorry but this man touched many lives, and I'm sure many you would want to know.

I need to post this because the poster an Alum, and his father are big time Linfield Football and all round Linfield Backers.

My best Friend lost his Father Sunday morning, This man was also my Fathers Best friend. Long time Linfield Professor Elmer Fricke who taught Math and Computers passed away this morning at the McMinnville Hospital. He was 84 or 85 I think. I wont give away my friends anonymity, but those who know him please keep he and his Family in your thoughts and prayers.

I don't think Elmer ever missed a Football or Basketball game in all the years I've been part of the Linfield family until recently, and that goes back to 1965 for me. You could always hear his voice cheering on the Cats in his own special way.

I will never forget the trip our families took to Wallowa lake and he and my Father took our Honda 50 into the town of moupin to get some food for our breakfast. The vision of those 2 big men on that little motor bike riding back into the Camp ground with bags of Potato's and things will be with me forever.

Elmer, we Love you and will miss you deeply! and to my good Friend......
You are the best, and your Father is Proud of you,
What the heck...Blue, I love you, good friend!
I'm Sorry!
