Frank and Michael may come to my house to use my Triple Racer anytime they call first. You, OxyBob, are still banned for not wearing a suit on my Elephant Splash. My mother poured kerosine on it and slid a flare down the slide destroying it for future use.

I'm confused?
I watched the video of Michael Allan, in his interview he said something like,........ they are keeping me accountable and I'm eating right .

What did he do before?
This is not a dig on him, I'm just surprised at the comment.

The guy working with him had some good things to say, and has high praise for him, I wish him luck..... It's good for D3 Football.

D.O.C. you guys in S. Cal have all the cool toys.  8)
Rain again here today, surprise!  :o
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Catdomealumni.com's blog "ADvantage Catdome" has updates on Brett Elliott and NFL Europe along with where Brandon Hazenberg and Casey Allen will be indoors this season.

I'm a little surprised on the accountable part as well, even at Whitworth teamates held him accountable.  Which he didn't really need because he naturally a hard worker.  And I know the answer to this Tuxguy, but did you ever go to college?  cafeteria food, late night mcdonalds/wendy's...or the one locally owned drive-inn that all the students frequent (I'm sure McMinville has one)...none of that qualifies as eating right.  I watched a special on brian leaonard who was at one of these combine prep programs and all of your meals are cooked for you, protein shakes are made for you after many workouts.  These "schools" control how many calories you take in, they control carb and protein intake, as well as how many servings of fruits and vegetables you get each meal...the list goes on.  I think thats what he meant by eating right, which I'm sure 98% of all NWC athletes don't do.  But like Tuxguy said, this is great for D3 football, and even better for the NWC.  Sounds like Linfield has another very good recruiting class, hopefully these kids can hold onto the football.   ;)

It snowed in spokane yesterday for about 8 hours straight...don't think spring is ever going to come.  Damn global warming!   ???

(509)rat,

I was in the band so it was pizza and burgers :P . I understand College life, but these Days when one wants to go to the next level, or even be the best they can be in College, They watch what they eat.

My son played Soccer for the Cats, and he had a diet he followed, and no POP! That's all I was saying, just Surprised at the comment.

Nice article in the Oregonian yesterday on Lewis & Clark and their commitment to athletics and how it fits into College life. Sounds like they will be around for awhile, now lets get Pacific or someone else to follow the L&C lead.

WC11,
Your cheap plug :o accepted. Thanks for the update.  Now if Elliott can Fire up Rein like he did Wildcatville maybe he can get some more serious domestic NFL attention.

I understand, but there is a big difference between eating healthy in a college cafeteria and having chefs prepare all of your meals and snacks.  And not drinking any pop is great but not nearly as extensive as most of these pre-combine camps who moniter your exact caloric intake.  Who knows though...Allan could have just been trying to give the camp some positive feedback while he was being interviewed.

I'm sure someone has commented on this but has Pacific ever had a football team?  Pacific is probably the cheapest of the NWC schools as well...and believe it or not thats a big part of where many kids decide to go.  Of course they would have to build up a respectable program, but its possible.

509-Rat,

Yes, Pacific did have a football program, dating back to the 1800s in fact. I believe the program was shut down in the early 1990s because of financial reasons. I don't live in the northwest anymore, but it's my understanding Pacific wants football again and they're trying to come up with the funding required.

Pacific University (not to be confused with the University of the Pacific which discontinued football in 1996) discontinued football in 1992. Pacific University is a non-football playing member of the NWC.

Allan just ran his first 40: 4.67

They also said he benched (225) 19 times.  NFL network draft guy said after the east/west game he fielded a number of calls from scouts saying that "Allan might just be for real."

Through the TE's first run Allan is holding the 2nd fastest 40 time.  Miami's Greg Olsen crushed everyone with a 4.47.

update:

Didn't get a chance to see Allan or Western Oregon's Boss run their other 40's but they slapped up a leaderboard of the TE group with the top 40's.

Here it is:

Greg Olsen: 4.45

Mike Allan: 4.67

Kevin Boss: 4.74

Gijon Robinson: 4.75

Dante Rosario 4.76

Derek Schouman 4.77

Ben Patrick 4.77

Scott Chandler 4.81

Guy on the NFL network saying that besides Olsen's 40 time that Mike Allan's performance is the story so far with the TE group.

Outstanding job for Allan and Boss to be 2 and 3 in those times.

Catching drill is next for TE group.

Allan is first up followed by WOU's Boss.

First Pass: Flat routes and turn it up field into a sprint.

-Both Allan and Boss look smooth in their first time through.

Next route: Five Yard Out and Up

-Allan and Boss both make catches. Both balls where a little behind. Pass to Boss was even further behind him but makes nice adjustment on pass.

Second time through both Allan and Boss make good adjustments again. Very Fluid.

...and were into a break....

Back with blocking drill...just firing out and driving a bag.  Didn't see Allan or Boss go....Boise TE has some pop.

Calling Allan a top performer on day one with the OL/TE group.

...and that is it today for the OL/TE group.  NFLnetwork "draft" guy really gushing over how Allan performed well today.  I think it's safe to say he'll be in a camp late this summer.

D O.C.

Of course I wish him well.  I would like to watch him be a factor on Sundays.
May he always carry these WILDCAT memories with him.

2004

That 4.7 stuff would account for the 60 yard get-a-ways.

Well I guess that 4.64 was unoffical.  NFL.com has listed the top 8 TE "offical" 40's.

Allan still holds down the 2nd spot.

1. Greg Olsen  Miami (Fla.)  4.51
2. Michael Allen  Whitworth  4.71
3. Gijon Robinson  Missouri Western St.  4.71
4. Ben Patrick  Delaware  4.74
5. Derek Schouman  Boise St.  4.74
6. Dante Rosario  Oregon  4.76
7. Kevin Boss  Western Oregon  4.78
8. Scott Chandler  Iowa  4.78

NFL network guys are talking TE's again and keeping pointing out Allan.  He also measured up with a 36" vert and said he looked good in the position drills.

Update:  Allan also came in with the top broad jump at 10'3.

Not too bad for being a fleshy guy.  Way to rep the Rats, NWC, and DIII.

Thanks for the playbyplay on Allan :)
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

If only I could throw some karma wildcats way...I echo the other posts about your great coverage.  SI.com claimed to have official times with greg olsen at 4.51 and Michael Allan at 4.65.  The author of the article, Don Banks, had nothing but nice things to say about Allan and even had a few interview questions for him in his article.
