Yall know that my man 11 holds the all time Cat Sack record for a single season.  Not to brag but I have the right to.

  Phone it in  GHC

Gig Harbor Cat

Touchdown Tommy

GHC: It was a good game.  Dodgers starter Mr. 47 million/3 yrs pitched 3 innings and looked good.  Only Ethier, Kemp, and Loney made the trip.  So no Kent, Garciaparra, Furcal, etc.  Dodgers are TDT's favorite for NL West Champs in 2007.  They are deep, talented, and could be scary good.

TDT you and I are on the same page my man.  Hey  if you see TL (Tommy Lasorda) give him my best  He rocks

GHC,

First off, Good luck this season, sounds from your up-beat post, that you have the team ready to play.

A Dodger Blue guy, right on, me too.  My brothers watched them play in the Coliseum in the early 60's.

Now why I'm posting, WC11 needs his due.......( GHC you started it)
This is some good stuff!!
WC11 states
Career.... Tackles for loss #1  50 (259 total yards)  :o
season.... #3  in '97 ..(25)   & #4 in'98.. (22)  :o
QB Sacks Career....#2 ...(28)...(176 yds.) 1995-98  :o
Season ....#1.....(18)...(105 yds) '97  :o
*Game..  #2....(5).......10/29/'97 L&C
Nice job!!!

* If this was 2005, I would have known why L&C didn't want to play the Cats!
I'm sure I missed some things, but 11, thanks for the memories!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I had a press box seat for every play of the '97 season, and #11's play was awe inspiring. Due to the offense sputtering at times, the fans almost began counting on the big DE to get sacks and TFL's on nearly every play. One of the best single seasons ever at Linfield- either side of the ball.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

D O.C.

blah, blah, blah.....what has he done for us lately?

Oh! Yeah! Created monster web-sites for our feeding enjoyment all year long.

Thanks guys for the kind words.  Really appreciate it ....Going into '97 I was just dying to crack the starting line-up.  On another note...I still feel that '98 defense was one of the best defensive units the 'Cats have put on the field.   ;D

WC11,

I would have to agree about the Defense.

I think those games took a few years off my over all life expectancy.
The Cats go 7-2 in '98.........

This number is scary, take out the win over Lewis and Clark which was 52-7, and you end up with

Linfield.......... 112 points

Opponents....107 points

3 wins by 1 point
1 loss by 2 points
3 wins by 3 points
1 loss by 5 points
1 win by 45 points

Without that great Defense we could have ended the..................... Can't say it.

D.O.C. don't forget the sun screen.
GO CATS!

Here's the latest Rhein Fire, Brett Elliott report, about his upcoming season, with a
comment from Elliott

He will have some serous competition for that starting QB spot. So how well do you think he will do this year? The first game is April 14th. Does anyone know if any of these games get tv coverage in the US?  If so what channel?

CamCat,

I believe the NFL channel carries the games. check your local connection to see if you can get it.
Good news, and TIVO is the best thing since, well I don't know what. It's cool!

Some "GOOD" things coming from an inside source of Linfield Football.  ;) ;) :) Just a tease but well worth it ........iT'S THE OFF SEASON!
GO WILDCATS!! ;D

NFL Europa is indeed on the NFL network. That is channel 212 on Direct T.V.

Hey guys, went to the ncaa.org website trying to locate a bracket for the upcoming basketball tourney. Instead, I found not one, but TWO things much more interesting.

First, under the "Top Story", a picture of a couple of 'Cats with their claws stuck in a Crusader while bringing him down during the '04 title game:

Remember how cool this day was?

Second, an article discussing the DIII Football Committee's efforts to create a more equitable system in the playoffs for higher seeded teams (something which has been discussed quite a bit on the boards over the last few years). They would like to do away with the geographic-proximity principle come playoff time. Also mentioned, "The committee, which met January 30-February 2, wants to create a more equitable policy in which two teams that have earned the right to host because of their seed play at home rather than face another high seed on the road early in the championship." Thought it was an interesting article:

Division III Football Recommends Changes to Bracket Process
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.
