Well...aren't you special bestowing purple dust on a worthy opponent.

There are a few more recent past opponents that I'm going to track down as the blog moves around.  On my list is "not our BE" and a coach that has a son with killer facial hair.

Dusty was very worthy and I'm thankful he is not running the rock vs Linfield anymore.

If you don't like his editorial choices you could probably e-mail him instead of posting in this public forum.

Okay, I fess up....I've got the fourth season of Hogan's Hero's.

Hogan's Heroes was on CBS from '65-'71, not quite the mid 80's but a classic nevertheless.  I have always been partial to Black Sheep Squadron on NBC from '76-'78 (wanted to be a pilot).  I think the 70"s were a much better decade for tv programs than the 80's - Kojak, Odd Couple, M*A*S*H and Happy Days (ok, sure they continued in the 80's, but the early days were better), Barney Miller, Cannon etc.

I know there is a frequent poster on here who could perhaps regale us with his stories of fun times on the set of Hogan's Heroes....say what you will about bob crane, but no doubt that the guy knew how to party!!!
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

I remember that game down at SOU when Dusty was their big star/draw (and I mean that guy WAS good!) Anyway, before the game they were selling bags of this sparkle stuff that the SOU fans were supposed to throw up in the air every time Dusty scored a TD. Well, I bought a couple bags of the glitter stuff and instead of throwing it up when HE scored, I threw it up and went all crazy when WE scored! Needless to say the SOU fans didn't see much humor in it but I thought it was fun!  ;D

Pacific is considering adding football.

Albertson (Institution #7) is investigating moving to D3.  If they add football, that really makes it easier to schedule a full 10-game season.

Pacific and a football-playing Albertson will give the NWC 9 teams.

I just visited the Linfield campus.  It's been a long time, probably 6 or 7 years since I've been back.  It sure looked good.  Many improvements around campus as well as the "new since I've been there" athletic complexes.  Heck, I remember when the weightroom was underneath the K-Sig house, there was still a gym in Riley, and the tennis courts were in front of Dillin.  Bought a few t-shirts and sweatshirts.  Went to Alfs and had a very good burger with my family.  One of the 8-man squads was on the field.  Can't wait to start hearing about the upcoming season and get game reports from all of you lucky enough to be in the Great Northwest.  A good day.

"Well, aren't you special" humor.
Innocuous.
No problem here.

Ralph,

Pacific has been looking into football for close to three years.  To me, coming out in public to state football could happen for the Boxers either means that they really have the cash getting lined up or they are throwing a hail mary to drum up their alumni base.  I still don't think it will happen at Pacific during the next 3-5 years...if ever.    Fox was also checking into football and I thought they were the strong canidate, but they seem to have decided to put their money into other areas.

Albertson...they'll be D3 soon rather than later....they may have to wait in line but they'll be a NWC member down the road.

The bookstore is having their half price sale.
Mrs. C just got back from there and said there is still a big selection.
