....WOU, Hardin-Simmons and Whitworth. But we play them all this year again so we can see what happens this time around!  :'(

D O.C.

That means any loss equals a kick.

Western Oregon, maybe.

The others were plain old losses.

To my recollection...nobody kicked us last year...we kicked ourselves, especially in the Whitworth game....which we should have, could have, would have won....IMHO

Pineconefan,
I grudginly added to your applause since your GUARANTEE got a laugh out of me.

....can we make the playoffs with 3 losses being in the B Pool with more Auto-Bid playoff teams now than in the past? So I think a good mind set would be a loss = a Kick!

Point taken.

Talk radio 5:57 AM PDT saying that NFL Europa is in it's season evaluation time and that the $500,000 loss per team has owners willing to disband. I was not aware referees, coaches, trainers, as well as the players, were being looked at for NFL suitability.

If I've read things correctly--NFL Europe is officially dead.  I don't know what this means for all the guys who have played, coached, or otherwise worked over there but I'm sure it can't be good.  Will we be seeing an influx of talent in the Arena league---or are there other options for the guys?

We've already got plenty guys playing arena football, and a bunch more added to the mix would certainly change the dynamic of that league. Like you, DOC, I hadn't realized that about the coaches, trainers and refs. I'd enjoy seeing Brett back in this area with some of his buddies, but that's just me being selfish so I could watch him play again. If I had my choice I'd rather watch him on Sunday.

I just asked a contact at the NFL Web site who was unaware of whether there would be a replacement development program. If that's not somehow replaced, it's unfortunate.

From the NFL web page:
The NFL has determined that it will switch the focus of its international business strategy to presenting the NFL to the widest possible global audience, including broader media visibility and the staging of international regular-season games, and will discontinue NFL Europa.

NFL Europa is no more, but the NFL is still seeking to grow its international fan base. Patriots tight end Benjamin Watson is touring China to help create interest there.

Can one of you Rat fans give me a reccommendation for a nice hotel in Spokane???  By the way is it Spo-can or Spo-cain?  Dont want to offend the locals. ;)  Any info on where I can take the wife for a nice dinner would also be appreciated.  We are coming up for the UR-Whitworth game.  Thanks.

D-Train,

I know I'm a SoCal boy, but I did have the chance to go to Spokane this past April for a family wedding.

We stayed at the Davenport, a great historic hotal and it was great.

Not sure what you like to eat, but Clinkerdaggers was a great middle of the day good food and beer spot.  I might give it a shot for dinner.  If you want to go more classy, the locals will have to jump in with their thoughts.

Actually, that's a really solid dinner suggestion.

Dick's is a retro burger drive-in and my attempt at being facetious. Not really a place to take the wife.
