Just wondering what everyones take is on the toughest NWC schedule for 07.  I'd have to put Linfield at number 1 for obvious reasons followed by

2. Whitworth
3. Menlo
4.PLU
5.WU
6.L&C
7.UPS

I never understood filling your schedule with soft teams just for W's.  You dont prepare your team to win against playoff caliber teams.  You've got to play the best to beat the best to be the best.

See ya at the HS game.

Wow, interesting placement of Menlo and UPS.

EDIT Sorry - read that wrong...

I don't see whats so interesting about it...UPS does have to travel to Linfield and Menlo gets them at home, but their games against Whitworth are opposite of that so I would say their NWC schedule is a tossup.  Moving on to the out of conference schedules its not even close.  Menlo has Stout (a good team in an even better conference) in Wisconsin, a top tier SCIAC team in Occidental, and DII Humbolt state.  UPS? three mediocre to bad SCIAC teams.  WU has WOU, Southern Or., Cal Lu, and has to go play a game in MN.  LC is at Linfield and plays Occidental, the rest are as much of cupcakes as UPS'.

All in all you could make an argument for UPS but it isn't a very good one.  But hey, UPS is going to have to win all but 1 game (they can lose to either Linfield or Whitworth) to even have a shot at making the national playoffs...so why give yourself too ough of a schedule when you are going to struggle in your own conference?

Forgot PLU...they are at Cal Lu, at Whitworth, at Linfield, at Wisc-River Falls....already tougher than UPS' schedule so I'll stop  ;D

Wait a minute...I read that way too fast. I thought that was a prediction for final NWC standings.

Sorry  :-[

Yes, UPS and L&C have soft schedules (one for more obviously reasons). The list looks pretty solid, Snapper.

Here is how I see it.

Even if UPS only loses 1 game, and It's to  Linfield the NWC Champs ( you knew I had to say that). I don't see them getting a pool "c" bid. The Schedule will come back to bite them. Just My Opinion of course.

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!

TuxGuy.....I think UPS would be considered a Pool B team but I'm not sure.

BOBCAT04..... The guy's knee wasn't quite down so we have to make sure he doesn't pull a fast one on us!

Pat Coleman

Nope, now that you have an automatic bid, there's no Pool B for the NWC.

bluenote

Oh...thanks Pat. I didn't know that the auto bid was in effect this year. I thought we had one more year of Pool B. Cool.....

Pat Coleman

Yeah, no, you're right. I'm getting ahead of myself too.

An NWC runner-up is eligible for B or C.
