Pat,

I know you are getting all kinds of advice on where to eat, etc... while in McMinnville. If you want a really great burger and fantastic onion rings, try Alf's. It is a drive-in near the Linfield campus and is a very interesting place to eat. The place has live monkey's in a glass cage. A unique dining experience to say the least.

...don't forget Golden Valley or Ruby Tuesday's for your post game dinner and Wildwood for Sunday breakfast.
Wish I could be there. See you all at Homecoming.

You guys are crazy...there's only one real place to get a burger and fries in Mac.  I know you all highly value WC 11's input on this board and I know that both he and GHC will vouch for my credibility in this subject...if it's a burger you want....you must head to the DELUXE!!!!!!!!

Bubs,

You are 100% spot on.  The best burger hands down in Mac but most people don't know because it's a bit of a shady joint.  However, if you want some cheep cold PBR and a top shelf double with fires it's hard to beat the Deluxe.

BTW...Blogged about the Linfield/HSU game on the ADvantage

Right on! The more beer you have at the Deluxe the better the burger.

I disagree- the deluxe is a great burger regardless of beer intake.

Did someone really say to go to Ruby Tuesday's??? Ughhh. Why would Pat fly all the way to oregon to gat a burger that is the same in any of RT's 100 locations??? Ruby Tuesday(s)= Great song, sub-par food.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Yes, it was me.
Never had a burger at Ruby's, I always got the shrimp, ribs, and steak. I recommended it because the Mac location has something none of their other places have...Linfield gear on the walls and the servers wearing Wildcat shirts. Also, a lot of the players eat there with their families after the game.

I ate at Thai Country when I was in Mac a few weeks ago. Pretty darn good. OK, know it's not after football food. I'll leave now. ;)

Where's the Deluxe? I lived in Mac for 7 years and I never heard of it.

It's a pub on the north side of 3rd.

I got a royal flush on the Baisch Bros. machine and made them pay me, no trade.   :D

How about the burgers at the Blue Moon......they seem to be pretty tasty after the first pitcher of beer!

The Deluxe does have great burgers, but it's a little smokey in there.

Yesterday I took Olinemom to the Made in Oregon store in Salem and she nearly wiped out their inventory. The manager actually thanked me for bringing her in! Today we went to Lincoln City, and her Visa card almost melted. That woman is a shopper. She's also a wonderful houseguest, and we are enjoying her visit very much.
So are our animals. We have a little Wild Kingdom of pets, and they have all taken to her.

Tomorrow we're going to Mt. Hood. Maybe we'll find those missing hikers.

OK, I know there have been suggestions a'flying, but here are my goals for the trip. Let me know if I'm missing something:

1. Take in a series or two on the end zone couches
2. Spend some time with Ad Rutschman somehow
3. Tour the Catdome

Who do I have to talk to to make these things happen?

Also, what do I need to add to my list? Can I get up a game of touch football somewhere?

4. Throw TD pass to Branden Hazenberg, pretend to be Brett Elliott. Or Tyler Matthews even.

We got direct flights from D.C. to Portland, sounds like we'll be in McMinnville Friday night. Let us know where the party's at (however you define party is fine by us).

I have plans in Portland on Saturday night, FWIW.

Too much information?

Carlson, I know I haven't responded to any of your messages yet (I shut off the world until ATN is done, since I'm easily distracted), but I'm leaning on you most likely as tour guide No. 1.
