94 point game:  Fans sure got their money's worth of offense today.

You got that right. I got worn out listening to it on the internet.
olinemom, Pat, and Keith picked a great game to attend.
Safe trip home for all.

Pirates 34-0 over LaVerne......sounds like last weeks upset was a wakeup call.  Hopefully the offense will continue to improve.

No upset, a sound win by Redlands.

Big win for Linfield. Way to bounce back strong.

I give the CLAW award to Chet Lemon for his hit on the kick-off at app. 7:38 in the game.

HSU really missed Carrillo since he was up to his tricks. Hope he's OK.

Lever Street

Just got home from CatDome.  Linfield's passing attack was incredible.  Don't know what happened in the 1st quarter, but once the 2nd quarter began it was a great site to see.  Trevor had great accuracy and many wide open receivers.  The short routes were wide open every time.

The Linfield D put very little pressure on the HSU QB.  We need to work on the pass rush.  Hard to tell whether our db's were bad, because their QB had all day to throw.

Nice to get the first W of the season.

Go Linfield!
You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

I also just got home from the game, and I've got to say...........WOW!
First.......
Enjoyed meeting Olinemom, Pat,  Keith and Criswyly.  D.O.C. as always good to see you, and sorry about the seats I know I will hear about it for awhile. What a great game for everyone  to come and see in beautiful Oregon. Great day, sun was out and temp was perfect, 70's.

The game was a battle, I'll pipe in later on my game thoughts, but have to say one thing...........
What was up with this Referee crew, is it me, or were they flag happy. Almost a 4 Hr game, talk about the new rules and speeding up a game?

Trevor had a game we all knew was going to happen soon, 511 yards and 6 T.D's, great job.

I think we may have found our running back group of Ragan and Lever, they both got some big yards when we needed them.

My Top hat comes off to Scott Birkhofer and his School Record Field Goal of 51 yards. Great job!!!

Nice front D3 photo and story on the Game, you guys are good!
More later, burgers are ready for the grill!

GO WILDCATS
LEAVE NO DOUBT
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Lever-our dbs aren't bad....the QB had all day to throw and it's tough to cover forever

The 2004 defense took a while to gel if we remember.  That group gave up a lot of points early in the season before finding a rhythm.  I think we're in really good shape. The RB for HSU today would probably tear up the NWC.

DUNDEE - what a reminder, D.O.C. About the only thing I don't miss about Oregon & Mac is having to travel through Dundee in order to go to Portland - or any place north. When I first moved to Mac, someone told me Dundee was the worst bottleneck in the state. It did not take long to realize that there is no doubt about that dubious distinction.  I have been following the progress of the by-pass (that locals told me has been discussed for decades) since I moved in Jan. of '06. Sounds like it is once again a dead issue.

Onlinemom, I know you are having a great time enjoying one of the most beautiful states in America. And don't even describe the weather; I can well imagine. We are still cooking in Louisiana - 94 degrees  yesterday with 90 percent humidity. While  lots of rain is in the forecast due to a tropical storm (low grade hurricane) in the Gulf of Mexico, it won't cool things off much. The weather man says it will just make our weather more tropical  ::).  When the humidity is high, which is most of the time in La., my wife says, "Remind me again, why did we leave Oregon?"

Enjoy the hospitality of the your Cat hosts, and the great atmosphere on Saturday as you watch Linfield take care of HSU (UMHB's most intense rival).

Ah, the weather in NOLA.  How I remember it well. I spent 7 years in grad school at Tulane in humid NOLA, the last year without air conditioning, so I can identify with your sentiments exactly!!  And yesterday coming back from Mt Hood we were in Dundee in standing still traffic in the very bottleneck about which you were speaking!!  But good things come in the morning.  I got to go to the Linfield vs HSU game and the tailgate that preceded it.  I had a fantabulous time, met so many people so I have faces to go with nicknames now--that is, if I can keep them all straight.  But I had a wonderful time and the game was so exciting!!  For a while I was nervous, but Linfield pulled away at the end.  It was magical.  I can't believe that I have to go home tomorrow, but reality comes to everyone.  Oregon is indeed a beautiful state and I plan to return again one day.  Virginia is alo a beautiful state and you'all need to come vist us (not just in Dec. for the Stagg Bowl!!)
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

olinemom:
Virginia is very nice. I visited there many years ago when my brother was stationed there when he was in the Army.
I even spent a day fishing the Appomattox River.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Oregon. It really is a beautiful state.
The Dundee bottleneck.. .I remember it well. Have a safe flight home.

Awesome Job CAT Offense--

Thanks for the updates RedandPurple--you made my day.  I was having flashbacks of the 2005 Linfield-UW-Whitewater game for a while---last team to score wins.  But sounds like it was a great game to watch or listen to.  Heck, I was glued to my cell phone!

Mcat:
You're welcome. Anytime.
Trevor also set a record for HSU.
From their website:
"Scharer hit 32-of-45 passes for 511 yards and six touchdowns. Linfield rolled up 629 yards. making it two straight games the Cowboys have allowed over 600 yards. The 511 yards set the school record for an opposing quarterback, surpassing Roy Hampton's 503 yards in the 2000 NCAA quarterfinals."
