Pat...

Good to hear that you had a good time at the Catdome!  Did WC11 lock take you to his screening room and show you his personal highlight videos from back in the day??   ;D :D

Hi Team,

Great win this weekend Cats.  I am quietly excited about the Lutes start this year.  Obviously, we haven't played the cream of the NWC crop yet, but hope is brewing in Parkland.  Looking forward to this weekend and going to battle with the monsters from Chapman....

....Looks like I'll be going over the see Willamette and Southern Oregon this Saturday! That will be a great scouting trip.

Pat....are you able to post any of the photos you guys took at the Linfield/HS game? Or am I not looking in the right place? I checked the scoreboard page and on the podcast page.

wyd...the PLU/Linfield game looks like it's shaping up to be another barn burner!

Front page and photo galleries page. But looks like our photo editor didn't add the gallery to the scoreboard page -- I'll get on him on it.

Proud Papa Joe

:) :) :)checking to see if this works. first time for me. I am the proud dad of a Linfield Freshmen. so I am constantly checking things out, because my wife and I live in Gridley Ca. It is 450 miles from linfield. went to first game in WOU. Couldn't make the Hardin game. Did get to see Oxy and Lewis and Clark the same day we watched Linfield and WOU. My Friends boy plays for OXY.

GO CATS

Sounds like I didn't miss much of a game.  %!$@'n weddings.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Hey Rat Fans....quick question.  Has Allan been on the KC practice squad all along or was he "demoted" (for lack of a better word) to the practice squad?  I was just surfing the NFL pages and saw him listed on the practice squad...I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that he had made the team as the 3rd TE... :-\
Go Cats!

Manuel.

Welcome to the Board.....the more Cats contributing the better!  What position does your son play?  How does he like being part of a winning football program like Linfield?

GO CATS...LEAVE NO DOUBT IN 2007

According to the Linfield Roster he's a running back.  ;)

I'm curious if anyone (especially you guys that have followed the program for a long time) have ever remembered Linfield having THREE quarterbacks in a row with this kind of talent. Matthews, Elliot, and now Scharer. Wow.

Without the turnovers (which have to stop), it sounds like the 'Cats could have easily hung 60 on a top 20 team that had two weeks to prepare for them. While this was going on, the Lutes were scoring 48 for the second week in a row on the road (would have had 55 but took a knee at the 2 yard line to run the clock out) against a good team from the WIAC. Sounds like the NWC might have two of the best offenses in the country right now.

As far as the defense, I'm hoping.it ends up being similar to how the '04 D improved (note: similar in improvement, I didn't say in talent – I'm being realistic here). This year's D, like the '04, had young linebackers that took a while to get rolling, which they did. The '04 D gave up 35+ to UW-Stevens Point, Southern Oregon, and Whitworth early in the season before things started to gel. There were games when we needed 40-50 points to win before the D came together later in the season. Hopefully we'll see the same sort of strides this year.

Lastly, the heck with getting Pat and Keith out for the PLU game. Rather, 'Cat fans need to find a way to get them in attendance anytime we play a tough, ranked team from Texas. Linfield is 2-0 against highly respected teams from the Lone Star state when the D3football crew is present.

Appreciate the sentiment, but you were the higher ranked team each time. Doubt you needed our help.

In fact, shoot, Mary Hardin-Baylor upset two higher-ranked opponents under our watch -- we may have been a hindrance. :)

Now we know the real reason why that Stagg Bowl ended up being a little closer than expected...... :)
