Hey D. O.C, i hope that the last quote on your post has an author to it, because i sure didn't say that. My post just wanted to send a greeting and a hopeful wishing for a match up with an NWC down in LA (since some of us down here in so.cal wanted that last year). Definately not intending to start any piss match.

Best of luck for all NWC teams.

ADvantage Catdome is offering up a single highlight of Saturday's victory over SOU.  :)

ADvantage Catdome: One Highlight

I'm glad you're taping the games, WC11. That was a great clip.

The board is pretty mellow tonight. I guess we're all basking in our wins yesterday.

But tomorrow is the start of Lute Week! Isn't it reassuring to know that a week of rain like we're supposed to have won't turn the game into a mudbath as it would have a few years ago?

Foss, I knew you'd be here for Homecoming. Good man.
Manuel, I hope I get to meet you.

Upon reflecting what I saw in Ashland on Saturday, I will say that it was good to see the attitude and demeanor of the SOU players hasn't changed over the course of 15 years.  Despite a new coaching regime down there, same old selfish renegade attitudes may very well have cost Southern the game.  Started from the get go...SOU players jumping up and down on their sideline before the kickoff chanting "Wildcats, Wildcats, Wildcats..."    Led to numerous personal foul calls that gave Cats timely 1st downs and stifled any momentum that SOU created.

Still need to clean things up offensively and hold on to the darn ball.  Can't keep winning if we are careless with the ball.  D played great despite being put in some precarious situations.  Need to start closing some of these games out...can't let teams back into games...a little nervous having blown 19+ pt. leads thr4ee consecutive weeks.

Kids will be fired up this week though...it is Lute week.  Luck the Futes.

wuck the fildcats.....  :)

I think it works.

Thoughts from the menlo game.  The Oaks have some studs for sure, however, they don't play together very well.  Lutes speed at reciever really exposed the young secondary at times.  I really expected Menlo to try and air it out a little more, but that didn't happen.  Lutes had great pressure on the QB all day, but missed a lot of opportunities to drop them for losses.

The Lutes are playing great right now.  I think this team has something to prove given the last couple of years.  Linfield will no doubt be a tough one, and I have to say we are a clear underdog going into the nasty confines of the Catdome.  I don't know the status on Chiado, but that is a HUGE loss for the Lutes this weekend if he doesn't play.   The young guys will have to step up.

We will see what PLU team shows up on Saturday.

Thanks Monrovia...good catch.  That one did slip my mind.  Guess I was wearing the pessimism hat instead of using the half full optimism glass.  I will quit my worries while we are ahead.  Go Cats!!!!

Does PLU have anyone else that can stretch the field like Chiado?  He is FAST, and I didn't see any other reciever that could pose the match-up problems that Chiado did.  But even with Chiado, I can't imagine the Lutes winning this one...I know the Whitworth score was close but if you watched the game you would have seen how Whitworth physically beat up on PLU for 4 quarters, and in the first half made PLU look like a very avergage team.  Now, maybe times are changing but Lifnield has been more physical than the Pirates as of late...even last season when the Pirates beat them @ the Catdome...and I don't think Gordon and the rest of his teammates do well when the opposition are banging them around.  Gordon looks like a deer caught in headlights when you put pressure on him, and I fully expect the Cats to bring pressure.

Physicality is great but if Linfield turns the ball over four times they will lose this week.

Just read the blog rundown of the SOU game and it's great to hear the boys showed some testicular fortitude and made some plays down the stretch, sounds like something to build on.

I also loved the take on the pre-game intimidation...I always love the teams that mean mug and play a kick ass version of  paddy cakes on their thigh pads! AWESOME...fitting for the schmucks at Southern though.

(509)Rat, thanks for confirming what I noticed about L&C. With some support, they will be getting better.

L&C has the distinct advantage in that the only direction they can go is to get better.
