I would think that some of the WIAC schools would play us they seem to not shy from competitive non-conference games.  I can't imagine the flight is much different than going to Texas.  Maybe the NWC could partner with the WIAC for some sort of rotation of games (as has been suggested and rejected with the SCIAC).

Or we could play UofO, OSU, and PSU in the preseason--that might up our game!

Can't Wait to Get to OREGON!!!

Should be a fantastic game!

Story ideas, anybody?  I don't want to just write a game recap!

How bout an epic tale of one teams quest to schedule an out of conference game with the SCIAC... :o

Put us on the schedule 11.  The J's have no problem Monkey Stomping the Cats...

Glad to see the NWC's biggest fan cough OAS cough is over here schilling for love.  Remember a vote of confidence from OAS is the kiss of death (check his recent MIAC title predictions)...

TDT,

We all know you are VERY jealous of oAs.  This is a well known fact that you are very envious that he is well liked and well respected...basically the complete opposite of your d3.com persona.

I would LOVE to go to C-Ville in late summer.  Tell your future head coach, John Jr., to set it up.

Pat Coleman

TDT -- when was the last time St. John's traveled that far for a regular season game? They aren't returning the Marietta game.

Where in the rulebook does it say that all game agreements must be in even number of years? Who says that SJU has to travel?  Everyone wants the payday from coming to Collegeville.  Get a clue Pat.  Looking forward to seeing you in Collegeville on Oct. 27th...  :-*  :-*  :-*

Nobody said that. But recent history doesn't exactly make it look like SJU is willing to travel to Oregon, despite your post suggesting the opposite.

So if SJU won't fly anywhere...why not some other school that takes a flight every year.  I don't get why for example Hardin Simmons would be willing to play us for two years but not 10, if that's indeed the case.

Speaking of scheduling, after talking with people at Whiworth it sounds to me like it is getting harder for them to schedule games.  SCIAC teams are no longer returning calls (the Pirates used to play CLU and PP)...the La Verne series may be done, as well as the Redlands one.  Glad Stout agreed to a home-away and hopefully more WIAC teams will work out games with not only Whitworth but the rest of the NWC.  Oxy has yet to agree to a game with the Pirates even though from what I understand it has been nrought up.  Just wanted to let you Linfield fans that you are no longer alone (even though this is a rather new experience for the Whitworth staff and fans).

Welcome to the club, Rat. That's what happens when you have a strong program and you're out here in the western wasteland.

TDT, you're a troll. WC11's right. Your jealousy of OAS is really transparent.

Did I hear it correctly that Southern Oregon has applied to join D2??

I heard that, too.  It seems that they have problems getting games just like we do, and being in a D2 conference will help.

They asked for a waiver to be D2 in football only. Even though it would solve a lot of problems and makes a lot of sense, the NCAA said no. They outlawed dual-affiliation a few years ago (besides a handful of schools who were 'grandfather'ed). SOU is rumored to be studying a full move to D2. I don't think it's a very serious effort, but I could be wrong.
