swede, I had to go put my kids to bed but it looks like the other guys handled your question.

Mcat,
sorry about repete...why a Johnnies fan would root for Linfield I don't know...I mean, I would rather play the Whitworth "we pee-down-our-legs" Pirates than the team that has given them close games.  On second thought, trolling on the NWC board, taking jabs at NWC teams sounds exactly like a Johnnie poster.
Ahmen to that---usually it's TDT but there is a whole gang of them...

Proud Papa Joe

Did anybody get to see the Lemon Bro's today on College Gameday?

If so.

Is there any place I can watch it on line?

Rat---I've now smited you and applauded you in the same night---your return to civility is deserving of the +K---Just remember when the other Cat posters get back--they'll be posting in response to earlier posts so try not to let them get to you!  Take the high road man---you own it tonight!

Its doesn't have the live commentary but here's the polished piece on the Lemons
PPJ here is an earlier post with a link to the piece (it doesn't have the whole gamdeay broadcast but it is the entire Lemon piece).
Go Cats!

Even so, (509)Rat, you sure do have your panties in a wad for a guy whose team won today. MCat had to pull compliments for your team out of you. I'd think you might be happy today.

Congratulations to the Pirates. You did what you needed to do, and were the better team today.

Congrats, you have a couple of NAIA DII championships (what were there, about 40-50 teams you had to beat out for that honor back in the day?).  D III football is much more competitive with over 250 teams.

I can't count too high but last time I checked Linfield still had a recent d3 championship and I can't recall Whitworth's.

And they've given SJU much better games than that 18-point pee-down-the-leg at the Pine Bowl.

You must be in journalism...I mean, only taking the part of my quote that made your response oh so witty, nice.  I admitted that the Lifnield BE's were one of the better teams that D III has seen for awhile, but that was a once in a century team.  Congrats, you Lost better than Whitworth...you should be the spokesman for Wildcat football.  They must have some sort of excuse making class over there at Linfield.  How can Mcat and the others give me crap when one of there own posts this?  "We lost in a much clser fashion than you did...so there!"  Thats classic.
Good try but Repete is not a Linfield guy (I think he may be a Johnnies fan)--Actually he picked the Rats to win this game in the MIAC pickem (west game of the week or something)....

Funny, first time I've been accused of being an LC backer ... not the worst thing apparently. Especially if 509 is an example of Whitworth's crew.

Yeah, I did take Whitworth because the Rats were a 21-point dog, which seemed crazy.

More than just SJU I'm a fan of the game and the premise that LC's d3 resume is only better than Whitworth's because (509's word) the "once in a century" BE team -- is just whacked.

Take 2003, for example. Linfield came into St. John's and took the West final game to the wire. No other team -- including Mount Union -- came within 18 points vs. SJU in the playoffs.

509, can you provide a comparable Whitworth effort? Even without the BE title year, Linfield has a better d3 resume -- no matter how you try to spin it.

Most long-time posters here know I don't come over to stir sh#t.

I respect Linfield because they have proven worthy opponents and nearly all posters here are class guys.

Maybe someday I'll be able to say that about Whitworth.

I add my Congratulations to the Pirates today as well. That was a painful loss, yet again.

A quick break form the pissing match. For any Logger or Oaks fans, or anyone who likes looking at football pictures, the UPS - Menlo pics are up. Now back to the regularly scheduled programming. ;D

D O.C.

I trust 509 will sleep it off OK. That and a good dose of vitamin B. I just can't believe in his drunken stupor he would attack the Kinder, Gentler WILDCAT Nation instead of simply pounding his chest for what his team got away with again.

Since the issue of class was brought up recently...

I heard Scharer tried to shoot himself after the game, but...
the bullet was intercepted by Phil Entel of the Whitworth Pirates.    ;)

Synopsis of the game...
D-Line out played the Linfield O-Line
Clifton showed why he was the reigning Defensive MVP of the league
Two phenomenal defenses (both laid some hat)
There were wide open receivers for both teams and QBs missed them
Thought the Wildcats play calling was suspect (went away from the bubble screen out of twins in the 2nd half...your best play)
I felt like punching myself in the face while I watched the Whitworth offense run 1 play the 2nd half...kudos to Linfield for absolutely dominating us defensively
Tully did what he does, conservative play calling that drives people nuts, but wins football games (no turnovers)
GREAT DAMN WIN FOR THE BUCS

I'll be there next week in Tacoma

In anticipation of next week's game, I looked at the UPS-Menlo stats.  Shocking loss for the Logs at Menlo, but they are still without their #1 QB and that seems to have killed their wing offense this season.

But the real point of this post - I glanced at the Willamette-L&C stats.  Did Willamette REALLY have to outscore the Pioneers 35-7 in the second half?  Sure they ran a ton of different guys, but seriously.
