Swede,

I wasn't paying attention, but I did see Gene Forman there when we left. He was the only one I noticed.

Can't reember the year you graduated but do you remember a RB by the name of Otis Averitt (sp) freshman Rb #23 must be his son.

Gene Foreman was my P.E. student teacher my senior year in H.S. I accidently got him in trouble. Does anyone wonder why they don't have archery anymore at the H.S.

Cawcdad has a couple nice pictures of your son in his Photo gallery Page 8

Swede,

I remember Odis.  Great guy. We saw him as we were leaving, and yes, that is his son.

OK, what did you do to get Gene Foreman in trouble in archery? Who did you shoot with an arrow?

Mrs. C had Ron August as a student teacher in high school biology.

I did my student teaching at the old Mac Jr. High. I think most of the kids I had have ended up in jail.

Swede,
That is Odis' son playing for the Cats.  If the son is half as good as the Dad he'll be a great one!  Odis was at Homecoming and we talked about his son's decision to come to Linfield.  Evidently he is really strong academically  and figured he wanted to get a good education so he chose Linfield.  According to Odis, his son was recruited and had offers from several Division I schools (I believe Air Force being one).  The kid attended Cleveland HS in Portland was first team all PIL as a RB and I believe was the second leading rusher in Class 5A his senior year with 1,600 yards and 16 TD's.
LEAVE NO DOUBT

He got some touches yesterday.

And another point for Mr. Burrows -- We're not in leagues. They are called "conferences."

NCAA should turn over the D3 piece of it to Pat Coleman. He knows more about D3 than all the rest of them put together.

Leagues is perfectly fine as a synonym for conferences. Let's not overreact here.

Pat....what is the reasoning behind UWEC going ahead of Whitworth? There has to be some type of explanation.....if you could find that out we would all be greatfull. This might mean that if Linfield would have beat Whitworth...they may not have gone either so I guess we all have a special interest in knowing what happened and the basis for the snub.

They both had 2 overall losses but Whitworth had 1 DIII loss where as UWEC had 2 DIII losses....what were the deciding factors??? It would seem that same division win/loss % would be primary criteria?

Still waiting for an answer on this......Pat? ???

Bluenote:

Go figure, I have a lot of stuff going on on Selection Sunday and stopping by the message board to answer impatient questions is not high on my list.

If you could have managed to be a little more respectful for the amount of time I've put into things today I would set aside time now to answer. But otherwise you can just hunt around the site and find where I have already said my piece on UWEC/Whitworth.

Please -- cut me a little slack on the busiest day of the year.
