No respect coming from me...win a playoff game...The SCIAC doing well has nothing to do with proving the NWC is a great conference...the 2nd best playoff winning% does.  And my blind squirrel comment is right on...redlands is now, what, 1 for 6,8, 10 against the NWC champ?

Go ahead and insert your beaten to death Redlands ducking Linfield comment here!

RFB,

I was REALLY going to wait until Redlands and Linfield put out their 2008 schedules before I started hammering away but you just left the door way too open for me not to ask this question:

Did SJU have to agree to pay for Maynard's sack lunch in order for Redlands to accept their playoff bid?

Feel free to jump on the Redlands bandwagon and support the Dawgs this weekend. Make sure Mrs. 11 has some popcorn and one of your favorite IPA's ready to go.

RFB: Pretty sure my buddy WC11 is on the Johnnies bandwagon.  In fact, he sent me a rather threatening text message yesterday so the SCIAC better not win...

Just checking in with some of my west coast buddies.  How are ya Dens and GHC?  You guys enjoying the offseason yet?

In tonight's local paper Joe Smith was quoted as saying that Whitman got snubbed. That sentiment seems to be universal.

Except in Wisconsin, I'm guessing.
I suppose you mean Whitworth....or else you're referring to a snubbing in the NCAA D3 Poetry Reading playoffs..... ;)

MCat,

You're right, of course. I can't believe I said that. I guess I'm yearning for the Missionaries to bring back their football program.

Is the Whitworth TE from last year, Mike Allen, on a roster or practice squad anywhere?

Your friend who asked last month when the last time Linfield was scoreless in the first half might also want to know:

Before Saturday, when was the last time neither team scored
an offensive touchdown in a Linfield football game?

ANSWER: October 27, 1984. Final score: Linfield 2, Pacific 0.

And the last time a Linfield quarterback threw five interceptions
in a single game?

Brian Higgins in 24-10 loss to Western Oregon on Sept. 20, 1997.

(Scharer could have thrown six on Saturday, but Whitworth # 14 chose to bat down the final pass of the game, which was thrown directly to him)

12 turnovers in the last two years against Whitworth; I wonder
if that is a record, too.

Last I heard he was on the KC Chiefs practice squad.
