Can you believe every single game in the playoffs will be over in time for you all to go mow the lawn, or whatever,  at 1PM Pacific Standard Time?

or shovel the snow off the sidewalk ;D

I just watered my vegetable garden! It's 79 degrees under a cloudless sky here in the AZ desert.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Nice day here too, nary a cloud in the sky and about 15 degrees, will probably take the kids out sledding when it warms up this afternoon.  :)

Redlands isn't much..... :P
yet the beat whitworth who beat Linfield....  What does that say about the NWC (and our Cats)?  I think Redlands played pretty well in the first half (well until the last two minutes or so..).  St. Johns was clearly the better team but they have nothing to be ashamed of today.
Go Cats!

C'mon that thing about Redlands ducking Linfield is getting pretty old. Will the wildcats book Mt.Union, St. Johns, Mary Hardin Baylor? Forbid, with playing a D2 school already and a improving Whitworth and PLU team the streak could be in very serious jeopardy. Sorry but I respect Redlands.

You know what's getting old...it's people acting like a bunch of ninnies in worrying about the streak.  A winning season isn't a goal at the start of each season.  The goal is winning the NWC, winning playoff games and getting back to Salem.  Do that and the streak takes care of itself.  We have fallen short of that the past two seasons and it's disappointing but the streak is still there alive and healthy.  I hope to god that our players don't even think about just getting 5 wins next season but have much greater goals than that.

So if the 'cats take one game at a time and win the NWC title and get back into the playoffs the streak will take care of itself. Lets leave no doubt next year and as for the ninnies, yea I worry about the streak, I guess watching 50 years of it will do that to a person.

Why can't Linfield add a 10th game to the schedule. I can't believe that of all the teams in D3 nobody wants to schedule the 'cats and even if nine games they could drop WOU and pick up a D3 school somewhere it can't have anything to do with $$$ and don't tell me the money is not there.

We have a hard enough time picking up 9 games and at $25,000 a throw for a road trip (with a cross country flight), I'm not sure if there is as much money just floating around...

That's why I'm all over Redlands...I'd rather take a cheap flight to LA than an expensive flight to Minnesota or Ohio.

By the way...Good thing those two Empire 8 at-large's got in!!  ::)

Foss

I think technically it was one of their Pool C teams (Ithaca - although I give them credit for playing MUC tough for one half) and their conference champ (Pool A, Hartwick) that lost. St. John Fisher was the other Pool C from their league, who won. I still cannot believe 3 teams from this seven team conference are (were) in the playoffs, making up nearly 10% of the entire playoff field.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Same here, Foss. That just reeks.
Two words:  THE STREAK

Gig Harbor Cat

Foss you are right on the money here--But then you usually are.  We all have our hands tied.  The crappy part of todays activities is that about a third of the teams at the dance play at our Cats JV level.  They know it  we know it..  And at this point  Redlands Knows it.
Did you happen to listen to the pre game radio interview that the Redlands coach gave.  Disclaimer--Im sure he is a heck of a guy-- but saying Win or lose this will be a great experience--and we didn't expect to be here.  Holy crap batman--Screw the experience factor--Lets go get the iron or in this case the Walnut. And yes BFD(RFB) I know you will take offense at this--But your boys left the offense in Cali.  You really need to win a frickin playoff game my man.

Foss

GHC, Nope I didn't listen to any of the games this week. Too depressed, I suppose. I did happen to catch this on the UW-Eau Claire website, though, regarding the 199 mile trip to St. Norbert:

FAN BUS CANCELLED

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The fan bus originally scheduled for the UW-Eau Claire at St. Norbert football playoff game this weekend has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.
Tickets are still available for the game, though transportation will not be provided. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students.
They can be purchased at the gate, beginning at 11 a.m., or over the phone by calling St. Norbert's ticket office. The box office can be reached at 920-403-3950 or toll free at 1-800-SNC-BOXX.

RE: The UWEC fan bus cancelled -

Notification of the bus was by attending the booster luncheon that day, or if you happened to see it posted on the website. It was not advertised in the paper, or on the radio... It means that in the four or five hours that the signups were being taken, without a lot of publicity, they didn't get the minimum people required to make it a cost effective trip for the fans who wanted to go...

The bus was intended for boosters, not students - and those who signed up were going regardless of whether there was a bus available or not...

Hard to beat a very good team on the road with your starting quarterback hurt. Maybe Linfield should have started their JV team this year, couldn't have been any worse in the results department.
