Swede,
If you are looking for a more mellow posting board, you should check out the SCIAC board.  It is a SJU-Redlands virtual lovefest.  Its the usual Johnnie idea of inviting a friend over to the house, beating the living crap out of them and then giving them a kiss as they head out the door.

GHC,

Are you saying you'd like to be  excluded  from the guest list next time we "beat the living crap" out of Linfield?

GHC;  We learned some our exceptional hospitality skills from you Cats.... would you prefer we all have our own little love fests and ignore our guests?  It's all clear now... I forgot... hospitality is part of the Benedictine tradition.  Later.  DSJU

Really, I do think Ithaca and Fisher should have gotten into the playoffs.  It was Hartwick who got lucky by winning at home against those two teams to win the AQ.  On the road they were absolutely horrendous this year.  I believe had Ithaca been playing anyone but MUC, they probably would have won.    Hartwick on the other hand should have been the team fed to MUC.

I can understand the bitterness but I do think the 2 Pool Cs to the E8 were deserving.

Anyone? Ithaca over UWW, Central? SJU, UMHB ....

So you're saying this was the actual Stagg Bowl? Darnit, where was ESPN?

Ooops, I was missing a key phrase in that... If Ithaca had been playing anyone else in the Eastern region they probably would have won..

I can buy that .....

BTW, GHC if you want a lovefest, head over to the Empire 8 board. Never in the history of these boards have so many folks celebrated the wrong end of a 24-point monkeystomp. Kind of makes one feel all warm and fuzzy.

The score is not really telling of the game, to one who was listening to it at least... 21-12 at halftime,  MUC fans themselves admitted the test was harder than anything they faced in conference all season.

I am not a fan of IC but I can see how after a week of predictions (by myself and most others) that they were going to lose by 50+ they would feel OK about themselves.

It's unfortunate that the team that Whitworth lost to at home got stomped yesterday. Makes it hard to really mount an effective campaign for them to have gotten in.

Not if you go by the criteria to initially pick the teams. But they don't. So E8 gets 3 in along with UWEC and NWC gets none. I guess that front page graphic of the NWC playoff winning % shocked and awed 'em into a bunch of blubbering idiots.

I love the Johnnie fans!  :)

Two 7-point wins over Linfield is "beat the living crap" out of Linfield while a 28-point monkey stomp is a tight victory over the Dawgs!  :D

Makes you wonder if the team in question were named "Linfield" instead of "Whitworth", would the decision have been different?

Oh wait I shouldn't stir that pot, plus the top dawgs on here say that the past has no bearing on selections.

TDT,

-k for not knowing that game in 1965 was the NAIA "Champion Bowl" and not the Stagg.  Geez TDT I know you don't know that much about football besides "SJU wears red" but I thought you had more knowledge of your team's history.

BFD,
Oh here we go with the excuses.  Coach  Coach !!!  It took a bad hop, the sun was in my eyes, I slipped, he holds. I have an owie.  Last time I checked you get things done as a TEAM.  If your #1 is nicked up then you bring out the #2, which is usually no big deal if you are a playing a Haskell type team.
As for Linfield's results I don't even need to go there.  You just need to go to www.catdomealumni.com  and watch some video on how Champions play.  There are also some related photos on the main page of Trophy's and rings.  Feel free to cut and paste them since you never got one.

Phone it in

GHC

I'm confused, you have a ring for playing on the 2004 national title team? If so, great! Not many can claim that. If not you're even a bigger dou*che then I thought.

BFD

You Crack me up dude.

No I didn't play on the 04 team, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Select last night.
